Welcome to my profile page!
My name is Natalia and I am Puerto Rican. I want to change the world to be more sustainable and teach young generations the importance of marine conservation.
I have always been drawn to the most challenging jobs. I hope to research sharks interactions and promote their conservation.
I am passionate about minority representation in the marine biology field. Because of this, I am thrilled and determined to pursue a Master's Degree in Marine Biology. I hope to lead an example and create more opportunities for hispanic/latino people to engage and pursue a career in this field.
I am grateful to Bold.org for providing scholarship opportunities that enable support in my future.

Bold Bucket List Scholarship
I have had many bucket lists in my life. Having been slowly achieving some of them have been fulfilling my life with happiness. But there are some ultimate bucket list things that one day I wish to accomplish.
One of my ultimate bucket list items is to study sharks’ interaction and then move to a tropical island where I can be close to shark species. Having already study Coastal Marine Biology has helped me understand the marine environment, but I want to further my knowledge and specify my career in sharks.
On the same page, another of my bucket list item is to travel to Maldives and hopefully participate in some researches of sharks. Maldives has a lot of shark species and is a place where conservation is encouraged.
Lastly on my bucket list to still accomplish is a research center to teach younger generations about the importance of sharks and encourage the next generation of marine biologist to make research and conserve the environment and marine species.
Bold Hobbies Scholarship
Hobbies have the important role on our lives to occupy our minds and let us escape from the pressure’s everyday duties. By finding enjoyable hobbies, our lives become less stressful. Hobbies not only can provide joy but can also help us expand our knowledge. They can teach us a lot of different things while being fun.
A hobby that has really impacted my life has been scuba diving. It has let me see the different interactions of marine animals with their environment. Also, it has allowed me to discover new places while always maintaining the thrill of new possible discoveries in every dive.
This hobby allows me to enjoy being outside on the environment but also allows me to always learn something, from seeing new animal species on every dive to getting the chance on seeing how the environment is changing.
Diving is a hobby that allows me to continue to learn while feeling great. Also, being outside with other people who also enjoys marine life is a beautiful way to escape the reality for a short period of time.
