“Once upon a time…” We all know this phrase, but have you ever considered what it means to you? These words are full of magic. “They take us away to worlds outside of reality.” That’s what we tell ourselves. The true effect of these words is to remind us of the magic in the world we already live in. To me, these words are my childhood. My dad used to tell me stories every day when I was younger, and I loved every one of them. They helped me see the magic and love in every part of God’s creation and grow in my understanding of Him. Because of my dad’s stories and countless others, I believe storytelling is the most powerful tool a human could possess, especially a born-again Christian. The meaning of beauty comes directly from God. He created our world intending to be glorified through its very existence, so beauty is simply the emotion and truth expressed in creation. God also created us to be creators and to worship Him. For a Christian to replicate the beauty all around us is a form of worship, because when we express love, joy, and the Glory of God with the gifts he gave us, we are doing the very thing he created us to do for Him. Since beauty plays such an important role in worship, I want to use storytelling as a tool to express that beauty.
