Art has been with me since day one of my life. My Mom did it and my
Grandmother did it, so it's in my blood. As soon as I watched my first
Anime, I wanted more. My very first anime was Full Metal Alchemist. The
show itself was so exciting, the art and animation were old at the time,
but it was gorgeous.
So I watched more and more anime, from when I got my first phone ( although it was hand-me-down) to watch any episode on
YouTube means necessary.
By my middle school years, I've been
perfecting and practicing my drawing dexterities every opportunity I got
until I evolved as some-what adequately to be impressed with myself.
The moment my father brought me a Kindle Tablet five Christmases ago; I
discovered it was a game-changer for my art profession. I operated that
thing day and night, drawing and sketching.
And although some weren't
the most satisfactory looking, some had the potential to be proud of.
Art harbors more from an escape from reality to a growing personality
towards me throughout the years. It protected me somehow and has
provided me with some motivation and conceptions for stories, video
games, character design, and voice-over ideas. Art gave me voices for
some of my characters and characters from my favored shows, art
became my persona, just as poetry became my intellect. The days where
I look back into my childhood, it's just full of drawings, memories, and
such strangeness that it's practically charming for a preschooler.
But I knew what I wanted to draw, I knew what I loved at the time, so I drew it even though it look liked a riddle and made no sense whatsoever. But that
was the point I drew it anyway. Nowadays I give up on one sketch and push on to the next, then revamp the artwork I got frustrated with. I am
still learning. Still discovering, still experimenting, still studying (watching anime) to obtain a superficial pursuit, to just make something come alive.
To watch it develop and stride on its own limbs physically and spiritually. I want to watch it come to life whether in a video game or comic book; they deserve to be shared with someone, anyone, even if it's just a small group, I don't care as long as my artwork is shared piece by piece. Art means more to me than my own person.
If I didn't know any better then I could state that art is more of me than myself.
