      1. My Inspiration for Pursuing Nursing My decision to pursue a career in nursing comes from a place deeper than just choosing a profession. It comes from real-life experiences that showed me how powerful care, presence, and skill can be during someone’s most vulnerable moments. I have seen firsthand how the way a healthcare professional treats a patient can either bring comfort or add to their stress, and I knew I wanted to be someone who makes a positive difference in the end. For me, nursing is not just about medical tasks; it’s about showing up for people when they need it the most. Whether it’s helping someone through recovery, managing pain, or simply being a calm and reassuring presence, I believe those moments matter just as much as clinical knowledge. I have always been naturally drawn to helping others, but nursing gives that desire structure, purpose, and impact that i can give back to my community. I am also motivated by independence and opportunities within the nursing field. I don’t just want a job—I want a career that allows me to grow, build something of my own like my mobile phlebotomy services, and create financial stability for my family while still serving others. Nursing offers balance. It gives me the ability to work in different settings, expand my skills, and even step farther into entrepreneurship, which is something I am passionate about. Ultimately, I am pursuing nursing because I want to be in a position where I can care for people with both competence and compassion. I want to be someone patients trust, someone who listens, who will advocate for you and someone who takes pride in doing the job right. Nursing is more than a career choice for me—it’s a commitment to making a real difference. 2. My Meaning and Impact of “Human Touch” in Patient Care To me, the phrase “human touch” goes far beyond physical contact. It represents empathy, presence, and the ability to truly see a patient as a person rather than just a task or diagnosis. In healthcare, where people are often at their most vulnerable, human touch is what turns basic care into meaningful care. Through my experiences and what I’ve observed, I’ve seen how quickly patients can feel overlooked when care becomes rushed, have no compassion or impersonal. I’ve seen moments where patients needed reassurance but instead received silence or minimal interaction. That stuck with me because it showed me how much of a difference simple acknowledgment can make. It made me realize that being technically skilled is important, but how you treat people is what they remember most. Human touch can be as simple as making eye contact, speaking with kindness, or taking a moment to explain what’s happening instead of rushing through a task. It is the tone in your voice, your patience, and your willingness to listen. These small actions may seem minor, but they have a powerful impact on how a patient feels during their care. When patients feel seen and respected, it can reduce anxiety, build trust, and improve their overall experience. They are more likely to open up, follow instructions, and feel confident in the care they are receiving. On the other hand, when human touch is missing, patients can feel like just another number, which can increase fear and discomfort. Human touch also provides emotional support. Many patients are dealing with more than just physical pain—they are dealing with fear, stress, and uncertainty. Taking a moment to acknowledge that, even briefly, can make them feel less alone. As someone working toward building my own path in healthcare, including my mobile phlebotomy services, I understand that my patient experience matters just as much as clinical skill. To me, human touch is not optional—it is the standard. It is what builds trust, strengthens relationships, and defines the kind of nurse I am committed to becoming.
