The way that I got interested in pursuing a computer science degree was when i saw a Kurzgesagt video on youtube explaining quantum computers. This gave me insight into these devices' power and how being a part of developing them could help save lives. Along with this fact, I have also been raised around computers and desire to work with the type of equipment I am most comfortable with. What I want to do with my degree depends on my current stage. I want to get an introductory computer science degree to start working and a physics degree to continue pursuing quantum computers. How I do that will significantly depend on when I get there, but I do have a head I want to either work on video games or computer forensics. Both of which could be greatly assisted with quantum computers. I havents yet decided which of the two I want to pursue yet, but I want to help others feel more comfortable. The reason why I feel I am the best candidate for this position is that I love technology and believe with all of my heart that if we remove ignorance of technology, or in other words, make sure people have an understanding that tech is not bad but the future, then we could wind up in a sci-fi world so to speak. What limits us in technology at the moment is not our ability but the people who are scared of its development, which isn't limited to computers but all products. I believe that healthy excitement for what is coming, along with careful observation, could move us quickly in the direction we want to be heading in for the future.

As a child of a veteran, I have had many opportunities to see both the excellent and the bad of people around me. I have seen people get hurt by things that weren't their fault, and people do things and get away without consequences. And along with that, I have heard even worse stories. My career goals have come from people who don't care what society thinks and continuing development as well as ensuring that there are opportunities for justice by using the new and better-developed technology. I want to remove ignorance of technology. To give some background to specific reasoning, my mother worked in the Sexual harassment/assault response and prevention program for the last few years of her military career. And even now, she works as a civilian in the same area. I have heard awful stories of human depravity and people getting away with things they shouldn't have. I want to improve the world by helping people find the "bad guys". I do not necessarily want to be in the same area of justice, but I do want to help people get justice. The other side of my reasoning is that my mother worked in signal companies for most of her military career, so I became well accustomed to technology and open-minded about the technologies being developed. This led to my interest in quantum computing and its fantastic potential. This is where most of my interest lies because, if you look at this piece of technology and its capability, you quickly find that it could make the processes in which we do some things much more accessible. I want to open the world of technology to the average joe; I want to see these development used everywhere. Having new technology available allows for a significantly improved quality of life. If we ignore these new developments, we risk the possibility of never becoming the best that our potential meets us out to be. It is the people who think about the future that change the world, not those who fear change. The most significant effect of being a military child is that I do not have as much of a problem with change. I see it as necessary because we as a people do not have the capability of perfection that would be required to become unmoving in standards. In these military schools, if you didn't adapt, you would have a rough time because the change that you experienced was so rapid it could tear you apart. To sum everything up, my mother, an army veteran, taught me that moving forward and not backward was the best thing you could do with your life. If we stay stagnant, we won't get anywhere, including the technology we own.
