Hello! Thank you for considering my application for your scholarship. I’m excited to join Pepperdine University’s Master of Science in Organizational Development program. My passion for group dynamics, change management, and employee welfare in multicultural settings drives me. I believe that businesses succeed when they prioritize their employees, and I’m dedicated to creating inclusive workplaces where everyone’s unique talents shine. Growing up with a single mother pursuing her Doctorate taught me resilience and balance. These experiences instilled a passion for hard work and the transformative power of education. Over the past 5.5 years in the hospitality industry, I’ve advanced from a front desk agent to a catering conference services manager. This journey has honed my leadership, problem-solving, and customer service skills, and I’ve cherished connecting with people worldwide. When I’m not working or studying, I explore the mountains with my dog, plan my next international adventure, or dive into a good book. These activities fuel my creativity and provide balance to my professional and academic life. My goal is to use my degree to help businesses thrive by prioritizing employee and client welfare. I envision workplaces where human connections and personal growth lead to enhanced efficiency and success. By fostering environments where people feel valued and supported, I believe we can achieve extraordinary results. Hospitality is more than service. It is about connection, care, and creating a sense of belonging. My passion for hospitality stems from its ability to bring people together, to remind us of our shared humanity, and to celebrate both what unites us and what makes each of us unique. I envision using this passion to help foster meaningful workplaces and communities where people feel seen, supported, and empowered. Working for Noble House Hotels, I saw firsthand how a hotel can be more than just a place to stay. It can become a space where people feel at home, where teams work together with purpose, and where guests are impacted by even the smallest acts of care. As I moved from guest services to event management and eventually into consulting, I carried with me a deep appreciation for the behind-the-scenes work that makes great hospitality possible. I also witnessed how a strong team culture has a ripple effect, creating memorable experiences for guests and fulfilling ones for employees. Now, as a graduate student in Organizational Development at Pepperdine University, I am expanding that vision. I want to help organizations, particularly in the hospitality and service industries, build cultures that reflect the heart of hospitality. Cultures that prioritize empathy, communication, and inclusion. When people feel valued in the workplace, they are more inspired to extend that same care to others. I believe that by supporting the employee experience, we naturally enhance the guest experience and create environments where everyone thrives. I also see hospitality as a global connector. I have lived in various parts of the country, studied abroad, and worked with people from all walks of life. These experiences have taught me that hospitality is a universal language. It brings people together across cultural and personal differences. I hope to use that truth to design experiences, whether within teams or organizations, that celebrate our diversity while grounding us in our common humanity. Hospitality reminds us to pause, to listen, and to treat others with compassion. My goal is to bring that energy into workplaces and communities. I want to help create spaces where people feel they belong, where their differences are celebrated, and where kindness is a daily practice. Through organizational development, team building, and cultural transformation, I hope to carry the values of hospitality into every space I serve. In a world that often feels divided, I believe hospitality holds the power to reconnect us. I want to use that power to make a positive, lasting impact.

I am worth the dreams I aspire to achieve because I carry them not just for myself, but for the people I serve, the teams I build, and the organizations I hope to transform. My dreams are rooted in the belief that work can be meaningful, that hospitality can be deeply human, and that when people feel valued, they bring out the best in one another. I aspire to help create workplaces where people thrive not only in their roles but as individuals, and I believe I am uniquely equipped to bring this vision to life. Over the past decade, I’ve built my career at the intersection of hospitality, customer service, and team leadership. From working the front desk at luxury properties in Jackson Hole to managing large-scale events and recently transitioning into consulting, I have consistently sought to uplift both the guest and employee experience. My foundation in hospitality taught me the power of presence, empathy, and going beyond expectations. These values now fuel my academic journey as I pursue a Master of Science in Organization Development at Pepperdine University. I chose this path because I want to deepen my impact. I don’t just want to contribute to excellent service; I want to help build the kind of workplaces where excellence is the natural result of a healthy, empowered team. I believe that when teams are supported with purpose, communication, and psychological safety, they can achieve extraordinary results. That belief isn’t just theory—it’s been affirmed again and again in the field, and it’s what I hope to share more broadly through organizational development and consulting work. My dreams are also shaped by a global perspective. I’ve moved many times as a child and adult, lived in several parts of the country, studied abroad, and I am endlessly curious about the ways culture, travel, and human connection shape our understanding of work and service. I envision a career where I help international teams navigate complexity with clarity, empathy, and alignment. I am particularly passionate about working with hospitality organizations to bridge the gap between internal culture and guest experience, helping to create environments where employees feel seen and guests feel truly welcomed. A key influence in my life has been my mother, a single parent who earned her doctorate while raising me. Watching her navigate challenges with grace, discipline, and determination instilled in me a deep belief in the power of perseverance and education. Her example showed me that dreams are not only worth pursuing, they are worth fighting for. Her journey planted the seed for my own aspirations and reminds me daily that I come from a legacy of strength and purpose. I know I am worth these dreams because I show up wholeheartedly. I lead with intention, I stay open to learning, and I believe in the ripple effect of kindness and integrity. My aspirations are not about titles or accolades. They’re about impact. I want to be part of building a future where people find meaning in what they do, where teams feel like communities, and where organizations see people as their greatest asset. A scholarship would not only support my continued learning, it would invest in the future I am committed to creating. I am worth my dreams because I carry them with purpose, perseverance, and a deep desire to be of service to others through every step of my journey.

    Elevate Women in Technology Scholarship
After working in two Four Diamond (AAA) Hotels for many years and more recently as a hospitality consultant for a company that provides sales and catering programs, I'm fascinated by the potential of hospitality management software to redefine workplace interactions. I've delved deep into understanding how technology can elevate the hospitality sector and empower us to create productive and successful teams. This software streamlines mundane tasks like booking and billing, freeing up staff to focus on delivering exceptional customer service. By automating these processes, it minimizes errors and empowers employees to engage more meaningfully with guests, fostering memorable experiences. Interestingly, my female leaders, who were detail-oriented and capable of multitasking throughout the day, were the best mentors of these programs. Their seamless integration of various functions enhances operational efficiency. Access to real-time information enables staff to promptly address guest needs and personalize their stay, leading to increased satisfaction and a positive work environment. As technology evolves, it presents numerous opportunities for personal and professional growth. Drawing inspiration from female leaders, I am particularly passionate about empowering women in this tech-driven era. Ultimately, my goal is to leverage my degree to champion employee and client welfare. Hospitality management software exemplifies how technology can enhance human connections and workplace dynamics, setting a precedent for other sectors to embrace a people-centric approach. I am excited to contribute a different perspective and foster gender diversity in the industry. Thank you for considering my application. Your support will enable me to pursue my educational goals and contribute positively to the business world. I am sincerely grateful for this opportunity.
