Dear Sir/Madam, My name is Moromoke Ogunniyi, and I am pursuing a bachelor of science degree in nursing at Trinity College in Illinois. My educational goal is to obtain a bachelor's degree in nursing to become a registered nurse in the United States. My professional goal is to work as a nurse at a community hospital that provides affordable health care to underserved areas. I have been aspiring to work in the medical field since I was young. I discovered my passion for caring for and assisting people with medical needs at age 15 when I accompanied my father to a local hospital center in Nigeria. I saw nurses and other healthcare professionals caring for many sick and injured patients at the hospital. Instantaneously, my desire to care for individuals with medical needs grew stronger, and since then, I developed an interest in a nursing career. As I grew older, my ambition to become a nurse grew and this strong desire prompted me to enroll in a nursing assistant program in 2019 to become a certified nursing assistant (CNA). I started my journey toward a nursing career by becoming a CNA to build experiences towards a nursing career. After becoming a CNA, I enrolled in the City of Chicago Community College's prerequisite classes to transfer to a nursing school. Now that I am enrolled at Trinity College, my determination and desire to realize my childhood ambition to become a great nurse energizes and motivates me. I am a thirty-two-year-old mother of two kids, but I am motivated, enthusiastic, kind, empathetic, polite, and ambitious. My energy and focus have been on achieving my childhood dream despite financial challenges. I have been consistent with my goal, and my ability to acquire new skills within a specific timeframe has benefited my college academics. As I started my path toward obtaining a bachelor's degree in nursing, my performance in every semester course has shown my commitment to mastering course materials. My experience as a CNA in a hospital and nursing home has laid a solid foundation for my nursing career. It also provided me with bottom-up experiences to become a very competent nurse. As a CNA who assisted senior patients, I have learned that all patients need respect and compassion. I've been trained from childhood to respect my elders and to treat people as I would want to be treated. This golden rule has impacted my life, and I will continue to do so as a nurse. My moral character and the characteristics that dwell inside me and guide my everyday actions will also assist me in my future nursing career. Furthermore, my experience as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) has allowed me to engage with various medical professionals and patients. I want to become a professional nurse who can soothe and console strangers in suffering. This experience has prompted me to focus on my skills and interests, allowing me to identify my strengths and flaws. I am confident in overcoming my weaknesses and dedicated to being a competent, compassionate nurse. I am excited to discover the opportunities that your organization provides to students who struggle to manage their finances between basic and educational demands. I consistently perform excellently in all my courses, and my current GPA is 3.91/4.0. I will maintain this academic performance till I achieve my career goal. However, my goals will remain dreams if I fail to obtain my bachelor's degree due to financial constraints. Therefore, I would appreciate receiving a scholarship from your organization so that I may continue on my path to becoming a nurse. Yours truly, Moromoke Ogunniyi

Dear Sir/Madam, My name is Moromoke Ogunniyi, and I am pursuing a bachelor of science degree in nursing at Trinity Christian College in Illinois. Now that I am enrolled, my determination and desire to realize my childhood ambition to become a great nurse keep motivating me. I am a young woman with two kids, but I am motivated, empathetic, polite, and ambitious. My energy and focus have been on achieving my childhood dream despite financial challenges. I have been consistent with my goal, and my ability to acquire new skills within a specific timeframe has benefited my college academics. As I started my journey toward a bachelor's degree in nursing, my performance every semester has shown my commitment. My moral character and the characteristics that dwell inside me and guide my everyday actions will also assist my future nursing career. Furthermore, my experience as a CNA has allowed me to engage with various medical professionals and patients. It also allowed me to comprehend the significance of verbal and physical reassurance to a person's health and morale. I want to become a professional nurse who can soothe and console strangers in suffering. This experience has prompted me to focus on my skills and interests, allowing me to identify my strengths and flaws. I am confident in overcoming my weaknesses and dedicated to being a competent, compassionate nurse. I am excited to discover the opportunity for students who struggle to manage their finances between basic and educational demands. Nursing Shortage Education Scholarship
I have always loved to care for others, and I had the opportunity to care for my grandfather when he was diagnosed with dementia. His health began to deteriorate, and my father wanted him to be around family he had to stay with us. That period was a defining moment for me because it changed my life for the better. Healthcare is the bedrock of any health system because it caters to the health needs of the poor and rural populations. The persistent underperformance of the Nigerian health system, especially at the primary healthcare level, has seriously affected Nigerians' health, wellness, and lifespan. Nigeria accounts for 27% of global malarial cases (World Health Organization, 2017) and is ranked as having the worst health indicators in Africa (United States Agency for International Development, 2019). According to the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency’s (2019) World Factbook, Nigeria has more than 200 million people, 49% of whom live in rural areas; a life expectancy of 57.5 and 61 years for men and women, respectively; high maternal and infant mortality rates; high infectious disease risks; and 1.9 million people living with HIV/AIDS. These data are troubling and show that Nigeria is in dire need of sustainable evidence-based strategies to address its ongoing health crisis. This right here is the main reason I chose this career path. I want to be able to contribute my quota in reforming the healthcare system in Nigeria while also giving my all to the United state of America, which is helping me take a step closer to my dream. The most rewarding thing I have found about being a nurse is the personal connection nurses make with patients on a trusting level. No matter how long it has been, a patient remembers their nurse. They may or may not remember the nurse’s name, but they remember if they were kind and compassionate. Unfortunately, in my home country Nigeria, we don’t experience this often because the healthcare system does not work as well as it should. I want to be able to have an impact on the lives of others. With my degree and experience in nursing, I would be able to start an NGO in my country (Nigeria) with different divisions; an arm will be for continuous training of nurses; an arm for the wellness awareness for nurses on the need to be conscious of their mental health so they can give their whole to their patients; another arm of the NGO will be in the form of a hospital that will offer accessible or affordable treatment by partnering with certified physicians of like-minded. I have been passionate about empowering and supporting less privileged people in my community. I advocated for free treatment for pregnant women in my community who could not afford hospitals by writing to our local government chairman. Still, only a little can be done at a chairman level. Having a hospital of my own will allow me to help the people in my community in their most vulnerable state. As a mother of two wonderful children and a full-time nursing student, I cannot work full-time because of my school schedule, which has affected us financially, and the constant worry of how our bills would be paid promptly might start having a negative effect on my study. if awarded this scholarship, I will be able to focus on y studies with little worry about how to pay my bills and take good care of my children.
