Hello, I would like to major in kinesiology. I’ve played sports all throughout middle school and high school. If I can’t play sports, I would like to help others recover from sports injuries. My second passion is to become an OBGYN not only to help women but to also bring life into the world by delivering babies one day I would also like to go overseas to help doctors beyond borders, helping has always been a passion of mine because I know what it feels like to be in pain and watching from the sidelines.

Hello, my name is Morghan Davis and I would like to win your scholarship because I am tired. Yes I typed it correctly “TIRED” but being tired is what motivates me to keep going. This all started when my little brother started playing basketball. He’s a year older than me, but I had to attend all his basketball games and practices. Since I wasn’t involved in any sports or extracurricular activities, my parents assumed I was bored and enrolled me in gymnastics and cheerleading. They believed that since I was a girl, that’s what I wanted to do. However, they soon realized that I was still bored and had to attend all his basketball practices and games during halftime and timeouts. All the younger sisters would go out to the court and dribble and try to shoot, and so would I. They soon noticed that I had a unique talent—not to dribble or shoot, but to take the ball from whoever had it. That’s how my passion for basketball began, still stealing the ball from others.
Because I wasn’t dribbling or shooting, I wasn’t enrolled in basketball defense, which wasn’t considered a part of the sport at the time. One day, during a basketball banquet, a basketball coach noticed my height, even though I was only in the eighth grade. He was impressed by how tall I was and how I towered over some of the boys. He asked my mom to bring me out for another tryout. I had no idea how to dribble or shoot, but I was exceptionally good at taking the ball from the boys. He convinced my parents to sign me up for the AAU team, and I made the team. Now, I’m in the eighth grade on an AAU travel team, still not knowing how to dribble or shoot, but only knowing how to steal the ball.
That summer, as I went into my ninth-grade high school season, I wanted to make JV or varsity. I knew I had to work hard and learn how to do more than just steal a ball. During my freshman year, I made JV and was promoted to varsity during the playoffs. I also ran track in the 100, 200, 4x4 relay, and long jump. In my junior year, girls’ FLAG FOOTBALL started, and I was the captain of the team. I played for both the junior and senior years. When I say I’m tired, I mean it. But I wouldn’t trade it for the world and would do it all over again. As I said, that’s what motivates me. And hopefully, we’ll get me all the way through my four years of college.

Hello, I’m tired but my name is also Morghan Davis and yes, I typed that correctly. I am tired. I’ve been playing sports since middle school but being tried is what motivates me to keep going. My mom has always taught me if you are tired. “That means you are doing something right” I never been the star of the team and I’ve never been the one to score the most points, but I get assists and rebounds and you can’t make a basket without having the ball in your hand. By the way I play basketball. I also run track and I play flag football. I would like to play in college, but my focus in college is bio-med. I would like to be an OB/GYN and eventually study overseas help women I want to give back. I have always been an advocate for girls, fight back for girls and stand up for those who are not treated fairly. I have a pretty awesome family a family full of women there’s very few men in my family. Matter of fact majority of the men in my family are all men that have been married in. It’s actually a running joke in my family. my mom is one of two women to have boys for some reason everyone delivers girls that could be a reason why I want to be an OB/GYN and to advocate so badly for women.
Recently, on my basketball team, a teammate couldn’t complete a task, which caused the rest of us to run more. My coach always emphasized that we finished together or we wouldn’t finish at all. Unfortunately, other teammates weren’t too happy and voiced their discontent, which made my teammate extremely upset. She started crying and ran out of the gym. The coach looked at me for guidance, but I knew that if I left, the rest of the team wouldn’t turn on me because now we had two people who hadn’t completed the task. However, I also heard my mom’s voice. After all, if you’re not tired, you’re not doing it, right? I managed to bring my teammate back into the gym, and we all were able to complete the task. My coach was happy, but the rest of my teammates weren’t because it took us an extra 30 minutes. Despite the extra effort, the task was completed. Everyone was a little extra tired, but it was done the right way. Standing up for yourself and someone else is how you make a positive impact, and that’s what I plan to do. I plan to be tired, but being tired gets results.
