Bio

Since going back to college at age 26 to pursue my dream career in music, I've made it my mission to learn everything I possibly can along the way. On May 13, 2022, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Media and Entertainment Arts (Sound and Recording Arts) from the University of Southern Mississippi. I'm currently the Morning Show Producer for a nationally syndicated morning radio show, “Murphy, Sam & Jodi,” for iHeartMedia, a student member of The Recording Academy GRAMMY U program, a GRAMMY U Memphis Chapter Campus Ambassador, a student member of the Audio Engineering Society, a member of SoundGirls, and a "We Are Moving The Needle" Scholarship Recipient. I will start my Master of Music in Music Production at Berklee College of Music online in the Fall 2022 semester.

My name is Morgan, but I go by my middle name, Faith. My mom named me Faith because she said she had to have a lot of that when I came into the world. I was born prematurely at 1 lb 8 oz and had a 20% chance to live. Though I survived, my left hip never developed correctly. I was diagnosed with hip dysplasia. Navigating a physical disability as a child was difficult, but my parents never limited me, allowing me to push boundaries. Despite being told I would never walk, I participated in horseback riding, cheerleading, softball, and dancing in elementary school. I was a serious horse girl for a long time but my interests shifted. At age 9, I realized I loved to sing while at church. That was the first platform I had to showcase my talent. As I grew, I wasn’t able to participate in physical activities as much due to my hip issues, so I got involved in the middle school band and guitar lessons. Music became my form of self-expression. I couldn't use my legs to their full potential, but I could use my arms and my hands. Whether instruments, drawing, painting, and writing, I gravitated toward anything creative. It was singing and playing the guitar that sparked my passion for making music, and I held onto the idea that it could become something more. At age 17, I graduated from high school, but my plans were derailed as I was forced to undergo two hip replacement surgeries to repair my left hip. It took me several years to recover, and during that time I struggled to remember my purpose. I thought I would never return to college, but nearly a decade and one divorce later, I had reevaluated my life goals and was once again determined to follow my passion. At age 27, I began the Sound and Recording Arts program at The University of Southern Mississippi and that spark returned. Even with the challenges brought by the Covid-19 pandemic, I achieved so much more than I ever thought possible. In-person learning in the classroom was limited, so I took every opportunity to gain hands-on experience through volunteering for different projects and organizations. This led me to my full-time role as a Morning Show Producer with iHeartMedia in my second semester of college. I was able to work remotely for nearly a year and recently moved to my new home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After graduating with my Bachelor's in May 2022, I plan to start my Master's in Music Production at Berklee College of Music so I can continue to follow my spark.
