I represent one of many high school students who don’t really know what they want to do with the rest of their lives. I want to make a career in the medical, fashion, or engineering fields of study. I’ve narrowed it down to these three and I still can’t choose. They all give me joy when I do hobbies within their subject areas. The medical, fashion, and engineering fields all require a good amount of money to get into them and I want to get a doctorate degree in one of these fields, so the money the winner gets for this scholarship would really help me. Some people might overlook a scholarship that has a $500 award but every bit counts when it comes to saving for something. I could invest this money in my education for school or for classes and programs outside of school. Some day I want to start a business or volunteer agency that offers a scholarship to help those that don’t know what they want or have their hearts set on their field of study. The $500 could go towards starting this up. I know what it means to feels clueless and overwhelmed about life and so do so many other kids as well as adults. I want to help people once I get to a level in life where I can help those that were in my same position. I want to be able to help those that were just like me, in my same situation. I think I deserve to win this scholarship because I feel as though no one sees the behind the scenes stuff I do that helps me to advance into these fields. I took Anatomy & Physiology in school in order to test out the medical field, I took Engineering in school to test out the engineering field, and I went to a sewing class and sew clothes to get myself familiar with the Fashion Industry. I also watch shows & movies that pertain to these subjects. The current ways I am working toward my goals is by applying to grants and scholarships that will fund my path to meet my goals and I am taking classes in school that relate to my goals. I would love to take classes outside of school that could help me to really progress in life, but my family doesn’t have the money to be able to spend on me and my brother for us to both reach our goals. In trying to achieve what I want to achieve in life I’ve done all I can do personally but now I need outside help to get ahead of the competition.
