Thank you for looking at my profile and considering me for scholarship! I am a first generation college student who is passionate about pursuing a great education that will help me hone my craft in the arts. I want to use my love for performance and psychology to pursuing an acting career in theatre and film, and teach art therapy to both artists and non artists alike, with a focus in trauma work. My dream is to start a theatre company that teaches artists how to practice their craft sustainably, both physically and mentally. This company would include a joint program that employs art therapy professionals to work with artists and non artists alike to implement sustainable mind/body practices in daily life, and help face unresolved trauma that these individuals may have. I am currently a student at Loyola Marymount University majoring in Theatre Arts with a minor in psychology. However, I believe that the path I am paving and the passions I am pursuing will be better nurtured within another program - at Fordham University. I was previously accepted into Fordham University's prestigious Theatre Acting track, but was unable to attend due to persisting medical issues uncovered by my subsequent long COVID diagnosis. After almost a year in recovery, I am determined to make my way back their program, to a community that fostered and deeply inspires my love of the theatre craft. I am working to gain enough money through scholarships to help make it financially possible for me to re-audition into Fordham's program and complete their 3 year residency in Theatre Acting.
