I cant remember a time when I didnt have a passion for animals. My dream is to become a veterinarian so I can help improve animal welfare and make the world a better place for animals. As a high school senior I have a 4.15 GPA and I am taking challenging AP and honors courses to prepare myself for college and, eventually, vet school. I also work at the animal humane society caring for rescue animals after school and on the weekends. Working in an animal shelter and seeing the horrible situations that animals have to endure has inspired my drive to improve animal welfare and make sure all animals get the second chance they deserve. I have also been riding horses including rescued off the track thoroughbreds, for ten years now. I am a hunter/jumper and I love both the thrill that comes with jumping as well as the trust and connection between horse and rider. I aspire to be on a college IHSA equestrian team to continue riding during college. I am also an artist in my free time. My art has been featured in the Northwestern High School Art Show, which was an incredible honor. My art is very focused around nature, wildlife, and animals. When I’m not sketching or painting, I love being outdoors—biking, hiking, rollerblading, and camping. Other interests of mine include hanging out with family and friends, reading, writing, puzzles, and watching football.
