Bio

I discovered programming at 7 and have since received 16 certificates from various organizations, including Google, Rice, UMich, and Duke. Still, as my love and realization of the impact of writing code and my progression through high school intertwined, I realized the innovative effects it could have. During my early years of high school, I used my web development skills to start a journalism site that provides students worldwide with free and accurate information about current events. During my senior year, I started developing a mobile app around developing a quick and efficient alternative to throwing away food through guided in-app donations, reducing food waste and global hunger. Shortly after, I created a mobile application for the first Muslim-run crisis line. I have also received state and regional awards in gymnastics, placed second in my collegewide AMATYC math tournament, won monthly local game and arcade development contests, become the Vice President of my college math club, and developed mobile apps as a freelancer. Not fond of education, I discovered the real-world applications of education, and the struggles I could solve with my educated mind were an integral part of my journey. Having completed high school earlier this year at 14 and dual enrolled college by the end of the year, I am glad to announce that I have been admitted as a junior transfer to the University of Michigan LSA at 15. However, after aid, the cost totals 60k, and with a family income of 120k and 20k EFC, my deposit remains unpaid, and education stalled until further aid is received.

    Bold Patience Matters Scholarship
Patience enables me to analyze things and situations beyond their face value. The resourceful, calm, empathetic, and self-controlling behavior given to me allows me to keep smiling despite challenges. Growing up, I remember always being surrounded by older adults and having elderly parents. From hearing to physical disabilities, I gradually learned to become patient with my surroundings. However, my patience developed significantly when I began programming. Long hours of constantly looking at long lines of code and dozens of cryptic errors tested my patience. The harder it got, the more patient I learned to become. I first started programming when I was 6, and at the time, I was still learning how to use a keyboard. Those characters and numbers became my alphabet, and I learned how to use them to create amazing things and experiences for others and myself. I spent the next few months learning about boolean logic, functional programming, and other mathematical principles that made programs work. The more I learned, the more excited I became. It was like an addiction. Looking back, I could have given up then and never looked back; however, despite the struggles, I remained patient and soon enough, I realized I had discovered my true passion. As my friends began to quit, I dug myself into even more complex topics. By understanding the importance of having patience, I maintained an unwavering focus on my long-term goals. Temporary setbacks like a delayed promotion, failing to qualify for a tournament or exam, or enduring train and flight delays do not affect me as much - they only help me become even more patient and develop as a person.

The Wright Brothers have inspired me for several years. Their efforts were often discouraged by those who thought it was impossible to develop a flying plane; however, they did not back down and are now considered the fathers of aviation. As a 14-year-old high school senior graduating several years early, I am also discouraged from my full potential or told to give up because I am too young. Instead, I decided to strive harder and believe in myself even more, ending up becoming the Vice President of a local tech newspaper at ten and founding my own freelancing business at 12.
