Bio

My goals are to create my own swimwear brand with sustainable resources, and also, that the business model allows me to employ people from vulnerable groups (women, indigenous, African Americans). This idea was born from combining my passion for sports, specifically swimming; my management and creative skills; and my mission to help others by offering a product that does not negatively impact the carbon footprint. I am a great candidate for the support offered by Bold.org because I am a proactive, open-minded, bold, perseverant, and disciplined woman. I am willing to change my habits and influence others to create a better world.

Recently in a class I realized that a large percentage of young college students were in debt. I realized I didn't want to be part of that percentage and started doing something about my finances. Although I don't receive any fixed income at the moment, my parents give me money periodically for my out-of-school expenses. That's when I realized that if I save on things I don't need, I can have more money at the end of the month to buy something really worthwhile. Many times we buy things that are not indispensable just because we have the money, but we don't think about the sacrifice our parents make to generate that money. Therefore, it is good to have a savings habit following a rule, I spend 50% on basic necessities, 30% is destined for activities that I like, and 20% I save, with the confidence that if an emergency arises I can make use of that saved money.

Education is important to me because I believe that although we live in a world with many problems caused by human actions, it is the human being himself who can make use of his abilities to reverse or reduce the damage. Fortunately, all my life I have had access to education, and even when my mother did not have it, together with my father, they have been able to educate me with values. This has given me the tools to believe that I am capable of doing my bit to improve the world in which we live. And if I can't make a big change, at least I can motivate those around me to do so. Since elementary school, education has brought me closer to carry out activities for the benefit of others. Within the schools I have taught religion, human formation and community service. In which, through different projects, I have had the opportunity to help vulnerable groups, such as migrants, the elderly, orphaned children, puppies in street situations. You start doing these activities as part of a curricular program and as you get older they become an important part of your life to make you feel fulfilled. During junior high school, staying in school led me to get involved in sports. Education also teaches you to eat right and exercise. It all started with wanting to follow my friends and belong to a group, but it has led me to become a standout in sports. In addition, I have been able to inspire more people with my results. At the high school level, having grown up going to school helps you make the decision of what to study. You start preparing yourself with vocational tests to reaffirm your talents, passions, and life mission. Also, it was a key stage in which due to the humanistic educational model of my school I got involved in the United Nations models. Participating as a delegate in discussion forums to solve world problems among nations. Getting to university has been a challenge, but I know that all the educational levels I have attended will help me at some point to face the outside world. A world, full of obstacles, of problems, of danger; source of human work. Day by day I am thankful that education is a right because it makes it easier for me, being a woman, to have access to it. Education has been an essential part of my personal and now professional growth. And it will continue to be so, since one never stops learning. I hope to be able to transmit my point of view on the importance of education to future generations so that they can fight to make a positive change.
