Ever have that one teacher in school who made you feel like you could do anything? That’s what Mrs. Foster did for me back in sixth grade. She was very encouraging and positive towards her students. Some of my favorite memories came from her class. One of my favorites is how on your birthday, she would make you stand up in your chair while the class sang to you. I remember on my birthday, I was trying to wait until the end of class so I wouldn’t have to stand and be embarrassed, but my friend Kaemyn told her anyway. Now you’re probably wondering why I’m telling you this. What does some sixth grade story have to do with a scholarship application? Well, I want to be an elementary school teacher. I want to help kids learn and know that they can enjoy school. I want other kids to be able to look back on their years and say “ Ms. Coleman made me stand on a chair for my birthday” or tell any story about how they enjoyed their school days. I currently work at a preschool as a part time job. I have enjoyed working on the playground with the 3 and 4 year olds. I worked this last summer in the 2's class. I learned so much working in their. I learned how to work with students of disabilities and how to work with children with behavioral problems. As you can see, my passion for teaching stems from a profound desire to inspire, empower, and shape the lives of others. As a teacher, I am driven by the belief that education is not merely about imparting knowledge but about nurturing curiosity, fostering critical thinking, and instilling a lifelong love for learning in students.
First and foremost, teaching provides a platform to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Every day presents an opportunity to positively impact the future generation, equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and values they need to navigate the complexities of the world. Witnessing the growth, progress, and transformation of students is immensely rewarding and fuels my passion for teaching.
Moreover, teaching offers a dynamic and diverse environment that constantly challenges and stimulates me. Each classroom is unique where I encounter a rich tapestry of personalities, backgrounds, and perspectives. This diversity fosters creativity, adaptability, and empathy, as I strive to tailor my teaching approach to meet the individual needs and learning styles of each student.
Furthermore, teaching is a profession that allows for continuous personal and professional growth. The pursuit of excellence in teaching requires ongoing reflection, refinement, and innovation. Whether exploring new pedagogical approaches, integrating technology into the classroom, or collaborating with colleagues, there is always room to learn and grow as an educator.
Beyond the classroom, teaching also enables me to be a positive role model and advocate for social change. Overall this has been a great experience and I would love to continue this career path.
My passion for teaching is rooted in the belief that education is a transformative force that has the power to shape individuals, communities, and societies. I plan on attending East Texas Baptist University; it’s a really nice Christian college. The dorms and campus are really nice and pretty. However, private universities are costly. If I got this scholarship, it would really help me pay for tuition and housing. By going to this school, I could accomplish these goals. I just need a little help. All in all, thank you for considering investing in me so that I can help educate our future scholars.

As a carpenter, having strong listening skills can be a game-changer. When you're working on a project, it's crucial to pay attention to the details and instructions provided by clients or supervisors. By actively listening and understanding their requirements, you can ensure that the final product meets their expectations.
Listening also plays a vital role in collaborating with your fellow carpenters. Whether you're working on a team or seeking guidance from more experienced professionals, being able to listen attentively will help you absorb their knowledge and learn new techniques. By actively engaging in conversations and asking clarifying questions, you can enhance your carpentry skills and expand your repertoire of techniques.
Now, let's talk about teaching. You might be wondering how teaching skills could be relevant to carpentry, but trust me, they can make a big difference. As a carpenter, you won't just be working on projects independently; you might also have the opportunity to mentor or guide others, such as apprentices or junior carpenters.
Having good teaching skills will allow you to effectively communicate and demonstrate carpentry techniques to others. By breaking down complex concepts into simple steps and providing clear instructions, you can help others grasp the skills and knowledge needed to excel in carpentry. Having the patience and ability to adapt your teaching style to different learning styles will make you an invaluable mentor to those around you.
Furthermore, teaching skills can also come in handy when working with clients. Sometimes, clients may have limited knowledge about carpentry or struggle to articulate their vision. By patiently listening to their ideas and concerns, you can guide them through the process, offering suggestions and explanations that help them make well-informed decisions.
In addition to that, your teaching skills will enable you to educate clients about the materials, tools, and techniques involved in their projects. This can foster trust and confidence in your abilities as a carpenter, as clients appreciate being well-informed about the work they have to do.
All in all, your skills of listening and teaching will greatly benefit you as a carpenter. By actively listening, you can understand client requirements, collaborate effectively with colleagues, and continuously learn and grow in your craft. Your teaching skills will allow you to mentor others, communicate effectively, and educate clients, enhancing your reputation as a skilled and reliable carpenter. I hope this essay demonstrates how having the skills of listening and teaching can be beneficial as a carpenter.

Picture this: Imagine you're an elementary student and you see your teacher helping their co-workers and other classmates whenever help is needed. You realize that your teacher is a lot more than just a teacher, she is a big role model in your life. She teaches you math and science, but she also taught you how to be a good friend and what it means to be a good person. These are some of the amazing characteristics of what it truly means to be a teacher. I've had many teachers with these same characteristics and many of them have become like a role model to me. They inspire me to be the best version of myself. My goal is to inspire younger generations to be the best versions of themselves by being a school counselor. A scholarship would allow me to do this by being able to focus mainly on my schoolwork instead of " Will I have enough to finish this semester?"
Now, as future teachers, we have the chance to be a role model for our students. How cool is that? We can make a positive impact on their lives by showing them what it means to be a good person. By being kind, understanding, and treating everyone with respect, we can create a ripple effect of positivity in our classrooms and beyond. But it starts with us, the people closest to our youth. If we are not demonstrating respect, mercy, and kindness, where will they learn these things? If we show our youth these qualities, we could bring up a entire generation of amazing people. This is all good, however, unless we get more funding for our educators this goal is nearly impossible.
Becoming a teacher isn't always a walk in the park, especially when it comes to the financial side of things. Tuition fees and expenses can add up, and sometimes it feels like you have to juggle a million things at once. That's where scholarships come in, my friend! Getting a scholarship would be a game-changer for me. It means I wouldn't have to worry about working a job while studying. Instead, I could fully dedicate my time to my studies, soaking up all the knowledge and becoming the best teacher I can be. I wouldn't have to stress about making ends meet or feeling like I'm spreading myself too thin. Having to worry about life after college is hard enough, being in college and being somewhat stable is a dream for many of us college students.
With the financial burden lifted, I can focus on what matters: my passion for teaching. I can dive deep into my coursework, participate in extracurricular activities, and even take on internships or volunteer opportunities to gain hands-on experience. It's all about seizing those opportunities and making the most of your educational journey. Hopefully, you will help me achieve this goal by blessing me to be able to dedicate myself to learning the best way to teach our youth.

Ever had a teacher who really made a difference in your life? That's what one teacher did for me. She always made sure to let our class know that we were smart. Any time we'd say something like, "Oh, of course, I got it wrong, I'm dumb", she'd say "No you are not, you are really smart". She also made learning English really fun. We always read many different genres. We read non-fiction and fantasy, and occasionally we watched movies based on the book we'd read, like The Outsiders by S.E Hinton. I have come to realize that not many students have teachers like mine. I also found that I enjoy helping people learn new things. Something about the look on someone's face and when that light bulb moment occurs makes me excited every time. So, I enrolled in my high school education program and got a job as a preschool teacher to gain some experience. Throughout both my high school class and job, I have learned a lot about the education system. I've learned how to work as a team with my co-workers. I've learned how to deal with the challenges of toddlers. I've also learned what to expect from each age group in human growth and development. I have enjoyed learning about children and how to teach. Now as a senior in high school, I have a clear idea of what I would like to do- teach. I have applied to multiple colleges and based on my educational journey through high school, I have been accepted everywhere I've applied. After reviewing all of my options, I have chosen to major in education at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas. They have great programs there and a great sense of family when you come into their college. I also love that their college has worship every day. If I get this scholarship it would allow me to focus on school and not have to worry as much about money, or how I'm going to continue my education. This scholarship would go towards tuition and housing if I were to get it. I would like to say, there are many people applying for this scholarship, but I'm not everyone else. I'm different. I have will and drive. You could say, I'm a very driven person. If I put my mind to it, it's happening. All in all, I hope you consider me for this scholarship so that I may continue my education at University.
