I’d like to introduce my original characters, two beautiful souls bound together by fate yet separated by tragedy. Tuesday the angel and Cheesecake the monster. These childhood best friends had everything they could ever ask for until the accident happened… It turns out, sometimes we can hurt those we love if we aren't careful. However, despite it all, their love is eternal. Even after death, Tuesday still continues to bring joy and comfort to Cheesecake’s life as his guardian angel. Nothing can ever separate them after what they experienced. These characters have helped me explore my own feelings and express my creativity. Their story is incredibly special to me and I’m so happy to be able to share it with others who may be moved by it. Exploring their interesting relationship allows me to think creatively. I attached a couple of illustrations of them I’ve done, as well as clay figures, and an animatic showing their backstory. I am currently attending Ringling College of Art and Design and I’m extremely happy to be studying illustration so that I can improve my skills and in the future I can reach a broader audience with my stories! Thank you so much for this opportunity.

Creativity and inspiration always comes to me when I am surrounded by the natural world and the amazing creatures that inhabit it. As a lifelong resident of Florida, living in Sarasota, I am blessed to be able to see some amazing animals every day while simply sitting at home in my backyard. It is evident to me that they each have their own personalities and distinct lives. My personal favorite fauna have always been bunnies or rabbits, I feel a very strong personal connection to them. I've always been moved by how intelligent and simply beautiful they are. Their long ears and knowing eyes, the gentle and angelic way they move. They are curious yet very cautious, they are aware of the fact that they are so vulnerable and yet they still find moments to lay down peacefully in the shade of the bushes and enjoy the moment. I often imagine myself as one of them. Sometimes I feel like I am a small and vulnerable thing in a scary world yet I always do my best to prepare for the challenges that lie ahead as well as to appreciate the beautiful moments despite whatever I may be currently going through. As the daughter of two cuban immigrants, all my life I've had to help my parents with many things that may seem trivial to native english speakers, such as writing emails and even legal paperwork. Language barriers also make it difficult for them to find good finanical opportunities. I am a very emotional person and at times I get extremely overwhelmed by the ups and downs of life. Creating artwork and expressing myself through drawing animal characters is my favorite way to get away from all of that and imagine myself as a different kind of being in a different world. Getting accepted into Ringling College of Art and design has been a dream come true. I am so grateful for the support of my parents in my artistic journey. Even though money is uncertain, I truly believe that I can find the funds for my education and continue to pursue my passion. Every day I'm learning new techniques and finding out secrets I never would have thought even existed. Attending art college has expanded my horizons. I love my teachers and I love my school. There is really nothing else I would rather be doing. Thank you for considering my application and for providing this opportunity for aspiring artists.
