My goal in life is to revolutionize cpu chips so that computer power can be accessible to anyone. Right now, I am most passionate about contributing to my robotics team in any way that I can. I am a great candidate for these scholarships because I am willing to put in many hours of work compared to many candidates.

Lamar J. Young Memorial Scholarship
When I started attending school, I never wanted anything to do with it. Starting in elementary school, I worked tirelessly to turn my Dyslexia and ADHD from my burden to my superpower. Since then, I put my best foot forward to make sure I excelled in school to pursue a scholarship. It eventually got to the point where my IEP plan for my Dyslexia and ADHD was not needed anymore; in fact, it felt as if I was being held back by it. When I entered high school, it was an overwhelming transition. I still had my IEP, and my future was still fuzzy.
The first time I met Mr. Young, he greeted me with open arms. This was very different from my past, when people would always disrespect me for my disabilities, and they never thought I could contribute to life. Even in my hardest moments through my academic endeavors, he could always find a way that would make them easier. With his help, I started from just barely surviving school to having people ask me for advice.
After high school, I plan to attend college at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and I plan to pursue a major in Computer Engineering. With the help of the guidance along the way and the skills in college, I plan to use the knowledge I gained to help people. As someone who understands the power and potential of computers, I believe everyone should have access to computers, as a more interconnected world will ultimately benefit everyone.
With that being said, to jumpstart this eager and bold goal, I need to receive money in some way to gain the knowledge I need in college to make this goal remotely possible. Mr. Young was always there for me, especially when I was struggling with hard problems. He never gave up on helping me understand, and his support has made a big difference in my confidence. Once I learned that Mr. Young had passed away and he was funding a scholarship for people in my grade, I knew this was the opportunity that I was looking for. Since he wanted the money to be used to allow someone chase their dreams in college, I know I can use the money to make a big impact on the world. Thanks, Mr. Young, for your time and effort. I truly appreciate your help and the care you put into it.
