Bio

I want to become a nurse to be an advocate for others like babies, parents, and the elderlies. My goal as a future nurse would be to be able to assist doctors and take care of a patient. To advocate for a patient and help them be safe and healthy. As a nurse, I would like to enrich the community to help prevent people from getting sick and/or spreading the illness to someone else. If we come together as one and educate the community from the start, then maybe there wouldn’t be so many people sick when we could have prevented it. I would love to volunteer to do just that, educate the community on health, illness, infection, and ways to prevent it. For example, washing your hands would be one step in the right direction to prevent illness. There are a lot of ways you could get sick but if we could prevent someone from getting sick by just education them that is one more healthy person. I would love to help spread awareness to my community about vaccinations, screenings, and educate them to help the community be a healthier place. To help the community I want to become and expert on my studies so I can give the right information to my community. I want to become the leader in my place of work so I can recruit quality nurses who will care for their patients and give back to the community. I want to either become a travel nurse or work in the NICU with premature babies that need a little bit of help before leaving the hospital.

I am enrolling at TWU because I want to get my bachelor’s in nursing. I want to become a registered nurse not only to help others but because I love to learn about the body and how all the body organs work together as a whole to keep the human body together and alive. The body functions and how the body can create new cells, or how the body can create thermogenesis by energy through the production of heat. The human body is extremely fragile but an incredible organism. I want to either become a travel nurse or work in the NICU with premature babies that need a little bit of help before leaving the hospital. It is hard to work at the moment because I was in an accident not too long ago and it really affected the way I work. I went to the emergency room right after and got x-rayed and then they told me I have a disc protrusion, so it would hurt to stand, sit, bend, and jump for a prolonged period of time. This scholarship will help me to focus on my education and getting my bachelor’s degree in nursing. I am the first person in my family to go to college, my mother was an immigrant and came to the United States to bring her family out of poverty, while she was young and had to learn English while helping her family and take care of her brothers and sisters it was very difficult, and she had to make many sacrifices for our family. As a family we came together to have enough money to get by, but I want to end that cycle and help my family. Living in a household with 4 siblings, it puts a lot of weight on my shoulders trying to make sure all the bills are paid, and all the mouths are fed. I was in an accident not too long ago, and it’s a really big struggle for me to work. I went to the emergency room right after I got hurt and got x-rayed, then they told me I have disc protrusion, so it would hurt to stand, sit, bend, and jump for prolonged period of times but, I want to continue my education and get my bachelor’s degree in nursing. I’m not able to work my full 40 hours a week anymore because of my accident. I try to work as much as I can every week, but the pain never goes away. With this scholarship I believe I can focus on my education and not have to worry about financial needs. I do want to focus all of my attention on my education and finish with the highest of honors so I can make my family proud. When I become a nurse, I will give back to my community by giving and encouraging others to give, against poverty during this time of year, especially with COVID-19 it would be a great opportunity to give out sanitation packs, so we do not transfer infections to each other. I can also volunteer by educating and promoting health in my community for example, I can provide health screenings, give information on diet and exercise, and give a lecture on the importance of vaccinations and how handwashing can prevent future infection. As a nurse, giving back to the community should be mandated, more citizens would be educated, and this would create a positive response because the more people know the better, they can understand how to stay healthy and safe.

As a first generation i want to be able to give opportunities to my family and my kids one day but for right now i want to provide any opportunity to my niece and nephew. I want to get full custody of them and provide them with a good life so they can be whoever and whatever they want to be.

The human body is extremely fragile but an incredible organism. I want to either become a travel nurse or work in the NICU with premature babies that need a little bit of help before leaving the hospital. I worked at Methodist Dallas Medical Center, housekeeping. I cleaned and picked up trash and I would go into the NICU and see all the newly born babies that just came into this world and thought that this is the help I want to give. I want to take care of the babies that cannot help themselves, I want to be an advocate for them and get them the best help so they can leave the hospital healthy. I am applying for this scholarship because I do have financial hardship, I am working but just barely to cover the very minimum. It is hard to work at the moment because I was in an accident not too long ago and it really affected the way I work. I went to the emergency room right after and got x-rayed and then they told me I have a disc protrusion, so it would hurt to stand, sit, bend, and jump for a prolonged period of time. I want a better life, for my family, and especially for my niece and nephew. They are so young, and they already have had a hard life. I love them very much but right now they are living with an extended part of the family they are not familiar with; I want them to be safe and loved and I do believe that they should be with their family. I am their family. I have raised them since they were babies, and I am willing to get custody of them and give them every opportunity life can give. They have had ridiculously hard struggles and different lifestyle changes at such an early age, and I do not want them to think that their family is not beside them. They have been through hard obstacles, and I want to protect them to give them the opportunity to be with their family. This is just another reason I want to finish my education and get my bachelor’s in nursing.
