Receiving this scholarship would be life-changing for me. The cost of a college education has been too much for me as a first-time student and the first person in my family to go to college. My mother is a single woman who has worked very hard to support our family, yet the cost of college can often seem like an insurmountable obstacle. Because I just didn't have enough money to continue, there have been times when I've given leaving school considerable thought. I would be able to continue attending classes, concentrate on my academics, and have the tools I need to be successful with this scholarship. I am especially excited to pursue courses in [General Business and Entrepreneurship ] since they will equip me for a position where I can have a significant influence. I could engage more fully in my study with financial assistance— without having to worry about how I'm going to pay for textbooks, food, or even transportation, I could engage in my study more fully with financial support. The difficulties I had as a child influenced my ambition for success and strengthened my resolve to complete my college education. I was raised by a single mother, so I saw firsthand what it means to be strong, selfless, and persistent. Even though we didn't have much, my mother constantly pushed me to work hard and have high dreams. It hasn't been simple, though. There were times when we struggled, and I got a job to help while managing schoolwork. Despite the ongoing challenges posed by financial uncertainty, I have never allowed them to deter me from moving forward. I have learned resilience from these adversities, and they have strengthened my will to end the cycle and create a better future for my family as well as for myself. In five years, I envision myself graduating with my degree and working in a career that allows me to give back to my community. I want to set an example for other first-generation students, particularly those like me who come from single-parent households. With perseverance, encouragement, and self-belief, I want to demonstrate to them that it is possible to overcome adversity and achieve your goals. My long-term objectives include learning more, perhaps going to graduate school, and beginning a mentoring program for young people who believe that college is unaffordable. This scholarship, in my opinion, will enable me to continue on that path and use the difficulties I've encountered as a springboard for growth.
