My journey toward a career serving individuals with special needs is deeply personal and shaped by my experiences as a first-generation college student and someone who has worked with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. From a young age, I developed a strong sense of empathy and a desire to help others. As I grew older, this passion evolved into a commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need support the most.
For several years, I have worked full-time with individuals with special needs, providing direct care, assistance, and encouragement to help them achieve greater independence. This experience has profoundly impacted my perspective, reinforcing the importance of patience, adaptability, and compassion. Witnessing firsthand the challenges faced by these individuals and their families has strengthened my resolve to become an occupational therapist. Through this profession, I will have the opportunity to equip individuals with the skills and resources they need to navigate daily life more independently and confidently.
My goal as an occupational therapist is to create personalized interventions that empower individuals with special needs to maximize their potential. I plan to work closely with clients and their families, developing tailored strategies to improve fine motor skills, cognitive functions, and social interactions. I am particularly passionate about working with children with developmental disabilities, as early intervention can significantly improve long-term outcomes. Online ADHD Diagnosis Mental Health Scholarship for Women
Attending college as a first-generation student comes with its own set of challenges but managing my mental health while pursuing higher education has been one of my greatest struggles. Having an ADHD diagnosis means that focus, organization, and time management do not always come naturally to me. Additionally, my experiences with mental health challenges have added another layer of complexity to my academic and personal life. However, through self-awareness, persistence, and proactive strategies, I have learned how to navigate these challenges and prioritize my mental well-being while staying committed to my education.
ADHD affects many aspects of my academic performance. Concentrating for extended periods can be difficult, making long study sessions overwhelming. Staying organized with assignments, deadlines, and responsibilities requires constant effort, and procrastination can become a significant barrier. Despite my passion for learning, there have been times when I felt frustrated with my inability to work efficiently, leading to self-doubt and stress. When my mental health struggles intensified, maintaining motivation became even harder, impacting both my grades and my confidence.

Their combined expertise in nursing, medical innovation, and emergency response would provide comprehensive solutions to this crisis.
Florence Nightingale, known as the founder of modern nursing, revolutionized healthcare through sanitation reforms and structured training programs.
