I have made an impact on my community through leadership, service, and dedication. Beyond competitions, I have demonstrated character through my involvement in FFA, academic achievements, and work experiences. Serving through campus tours, adoption events, church volunteering, agricultural presentations, donation drives, and workdays has taught me to lead with responsibility, humility, and pride. My role as an FFA officer, combined with ranking in the top five percent of my graduating class, reflects my dedication to personal growth and my commitment to positively impacting my community. These experiences have reinforced that leadership is not just about giving instructions—it is about listening, supporting others, and inspiring teamwork toward a shared goal. In addition to school and FFA, I currently balance two jobs, which have strengthened my time management, organizational skills, and work ethic. At a ranch with an equine boarding facility, I care for horses, deer, cattle, and exotic animals while maintaining the property. This job requires early mornings, physical work, and prioritization. I also own three horses, a Percheron and two Thoroughbreds, all of which I have trained myself. Training and riding them taught me patience, discipline, and perseverance—qualities that carry into my schoolwork, FFA projects, and work responsibilities. At The Meadows, a frozen custard shop, I serve as shift lead, managing employees, ensuring smooth operations, and providing excellent customer service. Balancing these responsibilities has taught me to stay organized and prioritize effectively. FFA sparked my interest in mechanical engineering and shaped my career goals. Agricultural Mechanics projects like building fire pits, swings, and lamb pens gave me hands-on experience in problem solving, planning, and craftsmanship. Competing in CDE contests such as Land Evaluation, Agricultural Technology & Mechanical Systems, and Environmental & Natural Resources deepened my understanding of technical challenges in agriculture and the importance of innovative solutions. Through FFA, I have developed discipline, responsibility, and leadership skills that will carry forward into my engineering career. Next fall, I will attend Texas A&M University to pursue mechanical engineering. My goal is to design equipment, structures, and systems that support farmers, ranchers, and agricultural operations. I hope to apply my skills to create practical, efficient, and durable solutions for agriculture, blending my engineering knowledge with my hands-on experience. I also want to mentor and inspire others, using my leadership and technical skills to strengthen communities and make a meaningful difference. Ultimately, my experiences with FFA, work, and service have shaped who I am and who I aspire to be. I want to use my talents to improve lives, serve the agricultural world, and contribute to the future of Texas agriculture, leaving a lasting, positive impact through both leadership and innovation.
Raise Me Up to DO GOOD Scholarship
Growing up traveling over 144,000 miles between my mother’s and father’s homes, I learned early what it means to live between two worlds. My parents separated when I was young, and I spent my childhood navigating two routines, two versions of family, and even two versions of myself. My relationship with my father was filtered through court hearings and phone calls, leaving me feeling like a responsibility rather than a daughter. At times, I questioned how a loving God could allow such hardships, and I struggled to trust that He truly cared for me. Over time, I realized that these experiences were shaping me in ways I could not yet understand. One night, as I sat in my car feeling the weight of my circumstances, I picked up a Bible my friend had given me and opened it to Psalm 27: “Even if my father and mother abandon me, the Lord cares for me… Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart be courageous. Wait for the Lord.” In that moment, I realized that even if human relationships fail, God never abandons me. My faith became a source of strength, stability, and hope, teaching me to persevere even when life feels uncertain. My upbringing also taught me empathy and resilience. I learned to understand and adapt to different perspectives, to communicate with patience, and to find solutions when situations felt complicated. These skills have inspired me to make a positive impact on others, whether through mentorship, service, or simply offering encouragement to those who feel overlooked. Looking toward the future, I hope to use my talents, knowledge, and experiences to help people in meaningful ways, even if I do not yet know exactly what career I will pursue. I want to create opportunities for others to feel supported, understood, and valued, much like I found support through faith during my own challenges. Whether through service, innovation, or leadership, I hope to apply the lessons I learned from growing up in a blended household—resilience, empathy, and determination to uplift others and make a difference in my community. My upbringing has shown me that life’s challenges can become a source of strength, and my faith in Jesus has taught me that hope and purpose can guide every decision. I look forward to a future where I use those lessons to serve others, inspire hope, and make the world a little brighter for everyone I meet.

Education has shaped my life in more ways than I ever expected. As I look back on the experiences that have brought me to this point, I can see how each class, each challenge, each leadership role, and each volunteer opportunity has helped me discover my strengths and given me a clearer sense of direction. I have come to understand that education is far more than tests or grades. It is a process that teaches patience, discipline, self awareness, and the confidence to keep moving forward even when everything feels difficult. All of these lessons have shaped my goals and helped me become the person I am today. Taking a full schedule of AP classes while maintaining a 4.0 GPA has pushed me academically in the best way. These classes are demanding, but they have taught me how to think critically, how to stay organized, and how to work through problems without giving up. On top of my schoolwork, I have taken on several leadership and academic roles, including being an FFA officer, participating in academic decathlon, and being active in OHS, Science OHS, and Spanish NHS. These groups have helped me grow as a leader, a communicator, a teammate, and a student. They have also shown me the importance of surrounding myself with people who push me to do better and who inspire me to set high goals. But school is only one part of my story. Outside of the classroom, I work two jobs and train as a welder. Working while going to school full time has not been easy. Some days begin before the sun comes up, and some nights end long after my homework is finished. There have been times when I felt stretched thin, juggling work shifts, FFA meetings, academic decathlon practices, and volunteer commitments along with keeping up with my grades. Even so, working has taught me lessons that I could not learn anywhere else. It has taught me responsibility, self discipline, and the importance of managing my time. Every long shift reminded me why I am working so hard to build a better future. Welding in particular has taught me patience, problem solving, and the satisfaction of creating something real with my own hands. Welding is also what first sparked my interest in mechanical engineering. I love understanding how things work and what makes each part essential to the whole. Welding allowed me to see that I enjoy solving practical problems and improving the design or strength of something through small adjustments. I realized that I find joy in both hands on work and technical thinking. This combination led me to pursue mechanical engineering, a field where I can bring together everything I enjoy and everything I am learning. My education has given me the confidence to believe that this career is within my reach, and my work experiences have given me the determination to chase it. Along with school and work, volunteer service has been a major part of my life. I spend time tutoring elementary students, helping them with reading, math, and homework. Working with younger kids has reminded me of the importance of patience and encouragement. It has shown me that sometimes all a child needs is someone who believes in them. I have also helped at dog adoption events with Gods Dogs, which has been one of the most rewarding things I have done. Helping animals find loving homes and supporting the people who care for them has made me realize how powerful small acts of kindness can be. These volunteer experiences have shaped my commitment to serving my community and giving my time to causes that matter. Balancing AP classes, academic clubs, FFA responsibilities, two jobs, welding training, and volunteer work has created challenges, but these challenges have defined me. They taught me resilience and showed me that I can accomplish more than I once believed. They helped me understand the importance of asking for help when needed and supporting others when I can. I learned that progress is not always perfect and that growth often comes through difficult moments. Education has given me a sense of direction by showing me where my passions lie and giving me the tools to pursue them. It has taught me that learning does not stop in the classroom. It happens at work, during volunteer events, in leadership positions, and in every experience that pushes me to think and grow. I want to use my education in mechanical engineering to create solutions that help people and improve the world around me. I hope to one day mentor younger students, especially those who are working hard to balance school and life challenges, or those who do not yet see their own potential. Every part of my journey has taught me something meaningful. My education has shaped my goals, strengthened my character, and helped me find a path that feels right for me. I am grateful for the opportunities I have had so far, and I am determined to use everything I have learned to create a better future for myself, my community, and anyone I can help along the way.
