Bold Community Activist Scholarship
Locally, I act very kindly, you could say. I smile at strangers and say hi. I believe in the butterfly effect, where if you be nice to one person, that person, will be inclined to be nicer to those around them. I believe a simple act of kindness is enough to generate a small positive change. But if when I continually, do this, I know the effect will be profound.
Bold Wisdom Scholarship
We are all connected and one with each other.
I would share this because many, most people fail to realize this. When you hurt other people, you hurt yourself. Revenge is like poison. Hurt people hurt people. When you bring others joy, it ignites joy and fire inside of yourself. There is an invisible field, which cannot be broken, that connects us all. We need to focus on feeling that, instead of feeling lost, alone, and separate, why is what many depressed people fail to realize and understand. If we can all, as individuals and people, work together on discovering what that feels like to us personally and set out on a journey to become our best selves, we will find that we will feel everyone's energy connect and we can interact seamlessly, with no friction, and we can truly create heaven on earth, bliss in the purest form.
JoLynn Blanton Memorial Scholarship
Education has shaped my worldview drastically. If not for going to high school and taking the college classes I did, my perspective, outlook, and awareness of the world would not be the same. For example, I came to a realization that you shouldn't judge the past by present views. If you want to prove your point, you need to state its significance and present your evidence. People just want to be heard. If you know someone that lost a loved one, the best you can do for them is to just be there for them. The world these days has a hard time listening, communicating, and empathizing with one another, largely because of the vast intake of social media content that is curated to their self-interest. The challenge today is to find a middle ground and create an environment where two people can come together, discuss different ideas, and leave with the slightest bit of contention. They may have presented a well-formulated argument to the other person, but there would be no hard feelings, only listening and interacting in such a way that might just leave both parties feeling energized after leaving their presence.
Bold Deep Thinking Scholarship
The biggest problem the world faces right now is a misunderstanding. People misunderstand what they want so they end up wasting a big chunk of their life. People misunderstand their spouses so they divorce. People misunderstand their friends, family, and acquaintances, so they lose their temper.
This has become increasingly more true as a result of social media. Because people's homepages of Tik Tok, Pinterest, and all other social media platforms are different and not what everyone is being 'fed' id the truth, when another person mentions an idea that doesn't coincide with his/her own, there usually becomes a problem between the two. Misunderstanding goes hand in hand with listening. Because one's viewpoint is misunderstood, the other person doesn't bother to listen and take what they're saying in.
One way we can work on this problem is to encourage each and every individual to begin to listen more and talk less. To encourage one another to seek first to understand, then to be understood. When people around the world can learn to do this, we will find that there will be a more caring and loving world that will listen to others and begin to try to understand people at a deeper level.
Bold Impact Matters Scholarship
One way in which I try to have a positive impact on the world is by being kind. I know that the 'butterfly effect' is real and that if you be kind to one person, that one person will be inspired to be kind to a different person. If you be kind to many people, many people will be inspired to be kind to everyone around them and the world will become a happier and more positive place.
Graduate Debt-Free Scholarship
Right now, I am planning on majoring in Education with a Bachelors's degree. To avoid college debt piling up, I plan to have a set schedule before I start my classes. I will know exactly which ones to take so I don't waste time taking the wrong ones. I also plan to save my money and use my savings to pay for it. Lastly, I plan to get excellent grades in high school so I can be able to receive many of the scholarships that I apply to.
Marilyn J. Palmer Memorial
Being an American is being a part of a beacon of light. When most foreigners look to America, they see a place where there is freedom and countless opportunities. Being a part of this, personally, means being something greater than myself. It means being educated about the Founding Fathers, what it took for them to establish such a country that God preserved for His people. It means carrying on the legacy that our forefathers set in place and doing my part to ensure our freedoms and liberties stay intact as well as educating many Americans what it truly means to be an American, that freedom isn't free, that we are in the land of the free because of the brave. Furthermore, because of this, we live in the greatest country in the world; a land of opportunity, freedom, excitement, and liberty.
