Hello, my name is Melanie. It's quite hard for me to pinpoint a single thing about myself as I have a multitude of interests that range from the arts to business. I love to express my creativity through drawing, writing poetry, and singing. Out of all of these activities, singing is my absolute favorite. While I haven’t performed in front of many people, my fondest memory was performing at a child's birthday party when I was 11. Even though my performance was far from stellar, everyone was still very supportive. To this day, I continue to practice and perform vocal exercises to improve my voice each day. Even though I don’t plan to make singing my career, it’s still a passion that I will continue to pursue. As for business, I am fascinated by the world of finance and how being knowledgeable in the subject is beneficial to taking control of your finances. Knowing that financial literacy is not the best in the United States, especially for my generation, I want to receive a bachelor's degree in finance or accounting to become a financial advisor so I can assist those who need help. I especially want to help those who carry a lot of student debt. As I conducted research on the student debt crisis, I realized how taking on massive amounts of student debt can be a drastic life-changer. While I might not be able to make someone’s student debt disappear, I still want to help those who don’t know where to start.
