Hello, My name is Melanie Marroquin, and I am a proud first-generation Hispanic senior at Islip High School. As the daughter of immigrant parents, I have navigated the challenges of being the first in my family to pursue higher education. This journey has instilled in me a deep appreciation for education and a commitment to creating opportunities for others like me. Throughout my high school years, I have actively engaged in various extracurricular activities, demonstrating my leadership and dedication. I serve as the Chief Editor of the Yearbook Club, where I oversee content creation and collaborate with peers to document our school's history. Additionally, I am a member of the National Honor Society, English Honor Society, and World Language Honor Society, reflecting my academic achievements and commitment to excellence. Beyond academics, I am passionate about community service. I regularly participate in food drives, volunteer at my local library, and provide babysitting services to support my family.
