Service has guided my life and led me to pursue my lifelong calling to become a nurse at age 52. I am an accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing student at The University of Texas at Tyler, committed to using my leadership experience, personal resilience, and passion for helping others to make a meaningful impact in healthcare. For more than thirteen years, I owned and directed a licensed childcare center, where I developed strong organizational, leadership, and accountability skills while supporting children, families, and staff. Beyond my professional work, I have dedicated myself to volunteer service through organizations such as Mercy Ships and Meals on Wheels, assisting underserved children, families, and elderly community members. These experiences strengthened my belief that compassionate service restores dignity and brings hope during difficult times. I have also served as the primary caregiver for multiple family members during serious illness and end-of-life care. Providing daily assistance, advocacy, and emotional support confirmed my calling to nursing. To support my full-time accelerated education, my husband transitioned to local employment to manage our home and farm responsibilities, allowing me to focus on my studies. I begin classes May 7, 2026, and graduate August 2027. I am committed to honoring scholarship support by carrying forward a lifelong legacy of compassion, service, and dedication in my nursing career.
