In the vibrant city of Shenzhen, a newborn was left in a park and placed in a basket. Discovered by locals, she spent 22 months in an orphanage, her origins unknown. Growing up, I wondered about my biological parents—did they share my love for fishing or art? A quote that resonates with me is: “People change people. Learning from the people you care about...” (Girl Meets World). My life is a tapestry woven from experiences, each thread telling its own story. My family means everything to me. My grandfather’s military tales and our fishing trips instilled patience and gratitude. Inspired by my father and encouraged by my mother and grandmother, I’ve embraced challenges, traveled and deepened my appreciation for diverse cultures. In elementary school, I organized fundraisers for children in need, driven by a wish to help, leading me to seek conservation and mission trips abroad. As a gymnast and coach, I’ve learned the value of hard work and joy of supporting young athletes. My coaches taught me to focus on the task at hand and “Be the best version of you” (Coach). A mantra that guides me. The mental and physical demands of the sport are lessons I will carry with me long after I’m done. Art offers inspiration and deeper connections that words often can't express. It fosters creativity and independence—key to my growth. I aim to create positive change in others’ lives, seizing every opportunity like a slippery fish.
