Bio

I am a first generation student to attend college. I am half Navajo, so I have been exposed to two different cultures, life on and off a Native American reservation. Through my nursing career, beginning as a certified nursing assistant and now a registered nurse, I have been inspired to improve the health and wellness of my communities. I am interested in lifestyle changes through diet and exercise for overall health. However, I realized that lifestyle patterns are based on social determinants, such as an individuals location, education, income, etc. I want to use my graduate degree in family nurse practitioner to improve these social determinants because I believe everyone deserves access to good health.
