Hey there! I am very passionate about volunteering. Two years ago, I was a Project 351 ambassador and am a current alumni! I love animals, especially dogs, and I am a big fan of anything related to the arts. I would love to do something creative with my life, though I'm not quite sure yet what that will be. I am a motivated and involved student and love participating in extracurriculars as well.

Book Lovers Scholarship
If everyone in the world had to read one book, I would choose Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. This book changed my life when I read it at the age of 10, and suddenly I was catapulted into one of the biggest and friendliest fan communities in the world. With millions of Harry Potter lovers globally, it is one of the most widely-known and beloved stories of our time. It changed my life, and I can't say enough about it. The characters are not only relatable, but they are incredible role models for children and teenagers who are, especially in this day and age, incredibly impressionable young people. Truthfully, the Harry Potter series as a whole is a book series necessary for every young person to experience before they become an adult and go off to college. The biggest reason why this book should be on every shelf is because it feels almost real. The wizarding world exists alongside our own in the novels, and that sense of uncertainty and whimsy allows even the most straightlaced adults to feel a little hope that maybe, just maybe, there could be wizards and witches among us, that there could be magic in this world. The books are so immersive, with their own newspapers, sports, cultures, and celebrities, that it's hard not to get completely hooked from the first page onward. Having a magical world to escape to, even for a couple of chapters, is imperative for a happy and fulfilled life. If there was one lesson I could take from this incredible series, it would be that magic truly is all around us, if only we're brave enough to see it.
