I am a first-generation Black woman scholar and Summa Cum Laude graduate of UCLA, where I double majored in English and African American Studies after transferring from Santa Monica College. As an undergraduate, I dedicated myself to educational equity and student advocacy. My primary leadership included serving as Director of Diversity and Inclusion for the Transfer Student Representative Office, Program Coordinator and Peer Mentor for the Center for Community College Partnerships (CCCP), and holding roles across the Student Transfer Outreach and Mentor Program (STOMP) and the Academic Advancement Program (AAP). Driven by my passion for access and equity, I currently work at a women’s university, where I focus on advancing women in higher education through leadership development, empowering programming, and building supportive institutional networks. Starting in Fall 2026, I am pursuing my Master’s in Counseling Psychology. As a first-generation woman of color, my mission is to combine culturally responsive counseling and institutional advocacy to support underrepresented students, advance gender equity, and dismantle systemic barriers in higher education. Receiving a scholarship will significantly ease the financial burden of graduate school, enabling me to focus fully on my studies and my ongoing dedication to equity, representation, and service.
