I am an alumna of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where I double majored in English and African American Studies. One of the highlights of my undergraduate experience was studying abroad in London, where I gained a deeper appreciation for different cultures and global perspectives. As someone who plans to work closely with people in my career, I value learning about others and their lived experiences.
At UCLA, I was deeply involved in campus life. I held several leadership positions, including Director of Diversity and Inclusion for the Transfer Student Representative Office, Peer Mentor for the Center for Community College Partnerships, Social Media Coordinator for the Student Transfer Outreach and Mentor Program, Travel Study Ambassador for the International Education Office, and Administrative Assistant for the Academic Advancement Program. I also served on the AAP Student Advisory Committee and was a member of Chi Alpha Psi, UCLA’s co-ed transfer fraternity.
Currently, I work for a transfer preparation program at UCLA, helping community college students navigate the university application process and encouraging them to apply to selective schools.
In 2027, I plan to complete my Master of Legal Studies degree at UCLA, where I was recently accepted. My goal is to better understand laws and policies that impact public interest, education, and social justice.
Receiving a scholarship would greatly ease the financial burden of graduate school and help me continue my journey in education and service.
