I am a senior at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). I am currently double majoring in English and African-American Studies. I recently studied abroad in London and I am so grateful for the opportunity to embrace other cultures while learning more about the world. As someone who intends to work with people in my career, I must learn about others in these ways.
At UCLA, I am heavily involved in clubs, programs, honor societies, and various leadership roles at UCLA. I have held leadership roles in multiple organizations on campus, such as being the Director of Diversity and Inclusion for the Transfer Student Representative Office, a Peer Mentor for the Center for Community College Partnerships, the Social Media Coordinator for the Student Transfer Outreach and Mentor Program, a Travel Study Ambassador for the International Education Office, the Administrative Assistant for the Academic Advancement Program, a member of the AAP Student Advisory Committee, a member of Chi Alpha Psi (UCLA's only co-ed transfer fraternity), and more.
I intend to complete a post-baccalaureate program following my Spring graduation because I intend to apply to veterinary school. I am pursuing a career in animal medicine because of my love for animals and my passion for helping people from marginalized communities and low-income neighborhoods.
I would love to be considered for a scholarship so I can continue my educational and career journey without any financial barriers and obstacles. Receiving a scholarship would truly change my life when it comes to affording college.
