Hello! My name is Maya DeGuzman and I am an undergraduate student at Seattle University. I am majoring in Communications and Media, specializing in Journalism and Strategic Communications. My goal is to work as a writer or do PR/marketing/advertising for a film or music company. I am Filipino-American and come from a background of strong Filipinos that immigrated to Washington. As a first generation student, I am put into a position to continue their perseverance. I come from a family of six, with both my identical twin sister and I attending college at the same time. Scholarships to help assist with university tuition will help to reach my goals and ease the financial burden. In my free time, you can probably catch me with a good book and coffee in hand. I also enjoy writing, art, being musical, and giving back to my community.
