I read books multiple times a month.
I am an overcomer! When I was young, I was diagnosed with severe dyslexia and a processing disorder. Because of that, and a lot of bullying, school was tough until the beginning of middle school. In middle school, I found my tribe and my passion…theatre. My parents have always told me that dyslexia was my superpower and that many great minds and successful, creative people had dyslexia, so I believe it has been a gift. I see the creativity it brings me as something I can use going forward in my life and career. I have had to deal with tough people and learning challenges all my life. I have learned to advocate for myself to accomplish my school and theatre dreams. I know it will be difficult, but I have made it this far and am determined to become a Theatre Teacher. Theatre, leadership and growing others is my passion. I have gone after every experience I could in high school to help me learn and grow in theatre. I believe theatre education is essential for kids. I believe that because I have seen it in my own life and in the lives of others. I love to help people learn and explore things they are curious or passionate about. I want to help people achieve their goals in the most beneficial way possible. I have been blessed to have an influential theatre teacher who has advocated for me and believed in my dream. This year, I have had the opportunity to shadow her, learn, and grow. She has inspired me and someday, I would love to have kids say that of me.
