As I begin to enter Berklee College of Music deeply passionate about the arts, I'm extremely aware of the challenges facing fine arts programs worldwide today. Budget cuts threaten to diminish the creativity and expression that have shaped my life. Music, in particular, has been more than a hobby for me—it has been a lifeline, especially during difficult times like when I lost my Mom. Its melodies provided solace and strength, offering a profound sense of healing and connection that words alone couldn't convey. This personal journey has ignited my ambition not only to protect but also to rebuild fine arts education. Pursuing a degree in music education, I'm motivated by a desire to revolutionize how music is taught and understood. Beyond teaching notes on a page, I strive to empower students to unearth the stories within each piece—to feel the emotions, grasp the historical context, and interpret these narratives in their own lives. This holistic approach is essential in nurturing a new generation of musicians who can perform with technical skill and heartfelt meaning. Beyond the classroom, I'm dedicated to a lifelong commitment to performance. Whether on orchestral stages, in the dynamic world of musical theatre, through the spirited rhythms of mariachi, or alongside my own band, I envision a career that spans genres and continents. Each performance presents an opportunity to deeply connect with audiences, bringing joy, comfort, and inspiration to people's lives. Whether in prestigious concert halls or intimate community settings, I embrace the responsibility and privilege of sharing music's universal language. At the core of my mission lies the belief that fine arts education is about more than mastering techniques; it's about fostering creativity, empathy, and resilience across diverse student backgrounds. By revitalizing these programs, I aim to create inclusive spaces where every student can discover their potential and find their voice through artistic expression. Ultimately, my goal is to contribute to a world where music remains a powerful force for healing, understanding, and cultural exchange—a legacy that transcends borders and enriches lives globally. Looking ahead, I am determined to advocate for the importance of arts education, demonstrating its essential role in shaping well-rounded individuals and vibrant communities. Through my journey in music education and performance, I aspire to inspire others to appreciate and support the arts, ensuring that future generations have the same opportunities for growth, expression, and connection that have profoundly enriched my own life. Together, let us redefine what is possible for the future of fine arts education and ensure that its melodies echo through generations to come.

As I began my high school career, I was left with an incredibly rough start. COVID-19 hit hard and left us to go virtual during Freshman year and because of the precautions, I of course distanced myself from family, friends, plus I missed the entire Freshman year and experience of High School. Not only that, a couple months before I had even started my High School journey I lost my Mom due to drug addiction and both events affected my mental and emotional health. But I did have one escape, and that escape was and still is Music. I began to be more musically inclined due to picking up guitar lessons and picking up the viola in 5th grade which has allowed my growth as a musician from that point forward. As I matured through my life lessons, I found that I didn’t want others to feel what I did throughout the depression and I at least wanted them to have a grasp of something to keep them living life and not fall into such a dark hole. I joined the Eastwood High School Mariachi, Orchestra, Band, Jazz Band, created my own band that go by “The Hummingbirds”, joined the El Paso Youth Orchestra, played in my church choir, and played in an outside Mariachi by the name of “Mariachi Imperial''. Each and every one of these activities has brought me closer to my community through being able to play music and connect with their minds through soundwaves. To this day I continue to write original pieces with my band, play for crowds, and I continue to play in the ensembles I do because I want to touch others' hearts through music which I believe will provide my community the ability to heal in what they go through. My community deserves every right to be happy so they have the opportunity to move on and accomplish great things in their life, and because music is able to put a smile on their faces in the same way it does to mine, I use my knowledge in music to change as many people's lives as I can with it. My career goal is to be a music teacher and study in music education at Berklee College of Music , and I believe that all of the activities I participate in will help achieve what I want as a Music teacher, which is to help others with their emotions through music. In today's world, many do not speak up because they are too afraid to and go through abusive households, relationships, and overall lives. I want to be able to help future students in whatever it is they go through with my music education degree by teaching them the power of music and to show them that notes are not just ink on a page, but a life story in which they can tell however they want. I’m grateful to have been given the opportunities to perform and interact with my community and find it useful for teaching others and hope to pass it on with my music education degree. I believe my legend is to play music and help others for the rest of my life and it’s something I love and cherish everyday. People as individuals deserve happiness in life, and I hope that with my knowledge of music, that I may apply it to others so they may learn how to tell their stories and influence others.

Throughout life's boulders, music always finds a way to help me go through them and move forward. As I began to grow in my passion for music I began performing not just for myself but for my community which gave me the opportunity to realize much in life which makes me the person I am today. When I was younger I began to be more musically inclined due to picking up guitar lessons and picking up the viola in 5th grade which has allowed my growth as a musician from that point forward. During my years in life, I’ve had to deal with the passing of Mom from suicide, being raised by a single parent, and never really having much of a family which I hated having to go through but always found my way in moving forward. As I matured through lessons, I found that I didn’t want others to feel what I did throughout the depression and I at least wanted them to have a grasp of something to keep them living life and not fall into such a dark hole.
