During my time applying to various colleges, I created a reel showcasing my work and skills. It is important to me because I believe it shows my definition of creativity in the film/ video field that I’m dedicated to pursue a career in. The reel showcases my work at Academy for Careers in Television & Film, a public high school in Long Island City. From freshmen year to senior year in high school the reel shows my progression. During my time at ACTvF I’d grown to appreciate the grip & electric aspect of filmmaking. I had no idea that you can express art through lighting in media. I love to experiment with different types of lights and gels to represent different types of emotions that the director wants. As I prepare myself for college I plan in college is to continue learning more about grip & electric, but also start branching out and learning more about other cohorts such as camera, production design, sound, etc. so I can express my artistic emotions in various ways in my professional career. As an upcoming freshmen at Pratt Institute, I’m both excited and nervous to start this new chapter of my life. I’m excited to learn new skills not just in film, but also in other artistic fields such as architecture, sculpture, painting, photography, etc. Below is the link to my reel, Enjoy!
