I am a first-generation college graduate from California with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from UC Davis, now pursuing an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing at South Dakota State University. My academic background in quantitative reasoning and problem solving supports my commitment to evidence-based nursing practice. As a low-income and first-generation student, I am driven to expand access to compassionate, high-quality care in underserved communities. I plan to become a nurse practitioner in whatever role suits me best, depending on where I can have the greatest impact.

Career
Dream career field:
Hospital & Health Care
Dream career goals:
My long-term career goal is to become a nurse practitioner and eventually establish my own practice in a community that lacks accessible, high-quality services. I am especially interested in developing innovative care models, such as adult day centers, integrative clinics, or emerging forms of therapy that support vulnerable populations and address gaps in the current healthcare system.
I was a warehouse associate.
