Being the first person in my family to earn a college degree means more to me than receiving a diploma. Growing up, higher education was never something I could take for granted. There was no roadmap showing me exactly how to navigate college, apply for scholarships, or prepare for a professional career. While that path has not always been easy, it has made every accomplishment more meaningful. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing at the University of New Hampshire. Marketing combines creativity with strategy, allowing businesses and organizations to tell compelling stories while solving real-world problems. I have always been fascinated by the way powerful brands, memorable events, and innovative campaigns can bring people together and create lasting impressions. My coursework has given me a strong foundation in consumer behavior, market research, digital marketing, analytics, and business strategy, while also teaching me how to think critically and adapt to a constantly changing industry. Beyond the classroom, I have made it a priority to gain practical experience that complements my education. As Executive Director of the Student Committee on Popular Entertainment (SCOPE), I help lead the planning and execution of major campus events that serve thousands of students. This role has strengthened my leadership, communication, budgeting, and project management skills while teaching me how to work effectively under pressure. I have also completed an internship with a national event production company, where I contributed to large-scale projects and gained firsthand experience working alongside industry professionals. These opportunities have reinforced what I learn in the classroom and have given me confidence in the career path I have chosen. Being the first in my family to earn a degree also carries a sense of responsibility. In addition to my coursework, I serve as Executive Director of SCOPE, the university’s student-run entertainment organization responsible for bringing major concerts, comedians, and campus events to thousands of students. This role requires me to oversee event planning, manage teams, coordinate logistics, communicate with artists and vendors, and ensure successful execution of large-scale productions. Alongside this leadership position, I also work as an intern with BWG Strategy, where I contribute to the planning and execution of nationally recognized events and experiential marketing initiatives. Working while pursuing my degree has provided me with opportunities that extend far beyond a traditional classroom education. Through BWG, I have gained firsthand experience supporting large-scale projects connected to major organizations, brands, and events. During my internship, I assisted with projects related to the FIFA World Cup, the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, the International Franchise Conference (IFC), national tours, and other high-profile productions. I also had the opportunity to travel to Detroit to support Reindustrialize, a major conference focused on the future of American manufacturing and innovation. These experiences exposed me to fast-paced professional environments where attention to detail, adaptability, and teamwork are essential. Every event presents unique challenges, and I have learned how to remain composed while managing competing priorities and tight deadlines. One of the most challenging periods of balancing school and work occurred when multiple major responsibilities converged at the same time. During the academic year, I was leading SCOPE through event planning cycles, maintaining my internship responsibilities with BWG, attending classes full-time, and completing major projects and exams. Several large events were approaching simultaneously, requiring extensive preparation, meetings, and coordination. At the same time, I was facing significant academic deadlines that demanded equal attention. Initially, the volume of responsibilities felt overwhelming. Rather than allowing stress to dictate my performance, I developed a detailed system for managing my commitments. I created structured schedules that mapped out class assignments, exam preparation, internship deadlines, event planning milestones, and leadership obligations. By breaking larger projects into manageable tasks and assigning specific completion dates, I was able to maintain steady progress across every area of responsibility.
