Bio

One of my greatest passions in life is preserving our environment and keeping the world green. I believe that this planet has given us everything and it needs to be treated with more respect and cleanliness. As for my future goals, I plan to work in a chemical laboratory setting. Although I am unsure of the exact field I would like to specialize in, I have recently found a great deal of interest in the field of Pharmaceutical chemistry. During my sophomore year at UNCW, I started a Direct Independent Study (DIS) with one of my chemistry professors in which I work underneath her research at the UNCW Center for Marine Science. Here we focus on drug discovery from marine products in hopes of discovering anti-cancer and anti-viral properties. I am hoping to expand my knowledge of the fields of study in Chemistry through research such as my DIS and other internships. In doing this, I believe it will give me a large range of knowledge of the many jobs available to, in turn, choose the right area of study that suits me best!
