Masha is a driven student pursuing a career in higher education marketing. She attends Des Moines Area Community College and has been on the President's List for 4 semesters. She serves as a Campus Chapter Officer and Iowa Regional Officer in Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and interns part-time in the college's Marketing office.
Building on her academic success, Masha brought her student perspective, creativity, and video-production skills to her internship managing the college’s social media. She revitalized stagnant pages by spotlighting students' ideas and voices, boosting impressions by 203% from 169,000 to 512,000 in three months. As a Phi Theta Kappa Regional Officer, Masha practiced servant leadership by coordinating donation drives, leading two conference programs, and helping members succeed academically.
Originally from Niš, Serbia, a city in Eastern Europe, Masha attended Gymnasium Bora Stanković, a U.S. college-preparatory school equivalent. During her time there, she discovered her passion for communications and higher education.
She earned the FLEX scholarship through the U.S. Department of State's Future Leaders Exchange Program in her sophomore year. This opportunity allowed her to study in the US at Southeast Polk High School near Des Moines, Iowa, where she volunteered at the Animal Rescue League, earned a State Seal of Biliteracy in French, and joined the Speech club.
Masha will graduate from DMACC in May 2026 and transfer to Grand Canyon University in Phoenix to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Applied Marketing and Advertising.
