Ever since I was little I was a very skinny child and I didn’t eat much. My mom used to tell me I was close to becoming anorexic but luckily I did start eating more. My metabolism is really good so anything I ate I was still kept in good shape. The only problem I had was that I wasn’t eating the healthiest. I would eat pastas, fried foods, and fast foods. I never saw any problem with eating any of those foods because I was still in good shape. During COVID I was going through a pretty hard time with not being able to be around friends or family and I just felt so alone so I started to cope by eating. By the end 2021 I had gained weight because I was eating more and my metabolism had slowed down. I decided that was not who I wanted to be so I chose to eat healthier and workout. I started doing more research on what foods are bad for you and what foods are good. I also starting researching good workouts to lose weight and gain muscle. The hardest thing for me wasn’t eating healthy or working out though, it was being motivated and making time to be a better version of myself. Ever since I decided to me healthier and more fit I’ve also become better mentally. In my opinion if someone isn’t okay mentally they can’t be better physically. Eating healthier, going outside, and being more active has definitely made me feel better about myself and made me happier. I also did more research about fast foods and unhealthy foods. There’s research and studies that show that highly processed foods can cause an increase in depression. I am very proud of myself for being able to stop eating highly processed foods and I’ve started learning and creating new recipes of meals that are healthy to eat. I’ve also started to go on hikes, runs, and do yoga. Although there are days I don’t feel as motivated and I just want to be lazy I push myself as hard as I can and I try to find things that keep me active that I can also enjoy. I always strive to help others to be healthy and active and I love to see when someone is going to the gym and eating better. I hope that throughout the years I will still be active and still motivating others to fit as well.

      Superfood Lover Scholarship
The high vitamin and mineral content found in superfoods can help your body ward off diseases and keep you healthier But there are many more reasons why I personally love superfoods. Many people believe healthy foods are gross and unhealthy foods are delicious but for me it’s the other way around. I never grew up going to fast food restaurants, I stayed home learning to cook with my mother which definitely helped me to stay away from fast food industries. Throughout these last few years, especially during COVID-19, I started to work on my diet and find foods I liked that were healthy. Some of my favorite superfoods I like are avocados, berries, spinach, broccoli, salmon, eggs, brussel sprouts, and cauliflower. How I incorporate all of those superfoods into my diet is pretty easy for me. Seasoning foods always makes things taste ten times better and can help if you don’t like plain superfoods. I put avocados on bread with some salt and pepper for breakfast or if I wanna make a sandwich I put avocados and spinach in it. I also have made a breakfast sandwich with eggs, spinach, and avocado. When I just need a snack I will eat berries like blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries. It’s also good to make a smoothie out of them. The only time I eat salmon is during dinner time. Salmon is good plain but I like to season mine with garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. I make either brussel sprouts or broccoli and cauliflower with the salmon. I like to put butter and Parmesan cheese on my brussel sprouts and melted cheese on my broccoli and cauliflower. I do understand that by putting extra stuff on superfoods may not make it as healthy as it is plain but it is a good way to eat more superfoods and enjoy what you’re eating. I do strive to find better options to make healthy foods taste better without making the healthy food unhealthy. One of the biggest challenges I face with food is if I don’t like a certain food I just won’t eat it but I want to start trying to find ways to make the foods I don’t like taste better and maybe like them in the future. I also encourage so many other people to eat better as well. I want to help as many people as I can to make this world healthier.
      Bold Fuel Your Life Scholarship
One of the things that fuel my life is my career goals for the future. I always strive to be better in every way and having good career goals and accomplishing them is what motivates me to keep going. I’ve always been told no one gets what they want just by saying they want it. If you want something you have to work to get it. Another thing that motivates me is staying active. I’ve always been an active person so I use that everyday as a motivation to not give up and just to keep going so I can reach my goals and now that I’ve been active and staying outside all the time it makes my day ten times better than if I were to stay inside. Lastly my friends give me motivation to be a better person. I know that no one is a perfect human being but having my friends has really motivated me to at least be better than who I was in the past and to only be a better version of myself and not try to be someone else or something that I’m not.
      Bold Nature Matters Scholarship
Nature is the most beautiful and captivating environment that surrounds us, making us joyful and providing us with a healthy natural environment. Beautiful flowers, birds, animals, plants, blue sky, land, flowing rivers, seas, forests, air, mountains, valleys, hills, and many other things are all provided by nature. Our God has created a wonderful natural environment for our well-being. All of the things we need to make a living are natural assets that we must protect. We must preserve nature's individuality and maintain the ecosystem cycle's balance. Our natural environment provides us with a lovely place to live and enjoy, and it is our obligation to keep it clean and free of damage. Many selfish and bad human behaviors have caused significant environmental disruption in the modern era. However, we should all strive to preserve nature's beauty. It provides us with clean water to drink, clean air to breathe, food to eat, land to stay on, and so on for our benefit.

My educational career goal is to become an ultrasound technician and I’ve always loved traveling so I will later on in life apply to become a travel ultrasound tech. There are different fields in ultrasound and the one I like the most is echocardiography which checks on a person's heart to make sure nothing is wrong with it. I also hope to be working in pediatrics so I can work with kids. To work in pediatrics in echocardiography I will need to get registered at the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). I will need to take an exam for echocardiography and an exam for pediatrics. If I pass both exams I will be registered and can then apply for a job as an echocardiographer in pediatrics. I decided to go to South College - Nashville and join their Diagnostic Medical Sonography program so that I will have hands-on learning in that field and so I can start my career early. The reason I chose ultrasound technician as my career choice is because I have the option to travel or work in one location. I also have the option of working in a different field in sonography. If I end up wanting to do another type of ultrasound I will just need to study in that field and take an exam to be registered in that specialty.
