I grew up in a house where we only spoke Spanish. My only form of communication with my grandparents was through Spanish. I care about this language so deeply because it correlates to my grandparents and their sacrifices they haveover overcame. Something that I am most proud of is when I am in public and I see someone that is struggling to speak English since their first language is Spanish. I always want to help and translate for them because I know if it was my grandparents I wish that someone would be helping them the way that I am helping other people. The language that we speak is so beautiful. I am proud to be able to be bilingual ways that I will help with future generations is by making sure that they feel comfortable in in speaking their first language rather than tucking that away because speaking Spanish is something that makes them unique. no one should be passed away just because of the language that they speak is very bad beneficial to be bilingual not only does it help you in future jobs but to really help somebody in need that cannot communicate. being able to be alike to others that resonate with me will be such an accomplishment to be able to show them the background that they came from and to continue the legacy of the people that we came from in the country that our ancestors came from. I want the future generations to know that although we might get weird looks for speaking another language in another country is not something that you should be ashamed of when I would go to stores with my grandma. I would constantly have to translate to the cashier into my grandmother or to anybody that my grandmother was speaking to because her own language is Spanish. The amount of weird looks that have been given to me for being bilingual is something that I do not want other children to experience I want them to understand that being able to speak another language. It’s so fulfilling and something that you should not be ashamed of. We should encourage our children to speak in the language that they feel the most comfortable in. As a future teacher, I hope to be a voice to my fellow Latinos and show them that just being yourself and embrace your heritage.
