Faith has been a great influence in my life. I was raised to value God, to be industrious, and to be kind to and respectful of others. I have been blessed with a relationship with God that has influenced me to be who I am today; when I was facing challenges, it was God who gave me strength; when I faced difficult times, it was God who was with me; when I was told to be humble and grateful, it was God who told me. There have been times in my life when I felt overwhelmed with school responsibilities, problems, and future uncertainties. Most of the time, my faith was my solace and encouragement. Thanks to prayer, I have been able to come to terms with myself, to find peace, and to be assured that God has a plan for my life. When faced with difficulties or challenges, I have discovered that my faith will help me persevere rather than give up. When I know that God is with me, I can do everything with confidence and hope. My faith has also imparted character lessons. By working in the church and in my relationship with God, I have learned about the importance of integrity, compassion, responsibility, and service. My values will inform my actions both within and beyond the school. I work honestly, I am respectful of people, and I am willing to help people in need. Success can't just be defined as great accomplishments; it's the ways we treat others and the positive difference we make in our communities that make us truly successful. The most significant experience in my faith has been being a part of my church's youth choir and mass choir. I have been involved for a long time now, and it has reinforced my faith in God and taught me how essential teamwork, dedication, and utilizing my gifts and abilities are for serving others. I feel a sense of confidence and leadership in the church, and excited to be able to give back wherever I am needed. I feel my faith will continue to be a key to my success as I continue to work toward my career goals. All professions have challenges, hard decisions, and a role to play in influencing others. I will be able to stay focused on my values and make ethical decisions even in pressure situations, thanks to my faith. It will remind me to work hard, act well towards others, and do my job well and on the up and up. Beyond that, my faith gives me a reason to look at my work not only as a means to a livelihood, but as a means to a higher purpose as well. Through my education and work, I hope to serve others, make a difference, and be a positive role model in my community. When helping customers, co-workers, or people around me, I want to do so in a way that demonstrates the values that God has given me. My greatest struggles were balancing school, church, and family responsibilities to get my education and career goals accomplished. I used to be under a lot of pressure, tired, and lost faith in myself and in my abilities, but at that time, I didn't want any of those things to get in my way. In this difficult situation, I gained a new sense of discipline, learned about time management, and was reminded of my long-term goal. In this period, I had to balance studying, going to church (as a youth choir member and mass choir member), and taking care of my family at home. My attention had to be paid to each area, and sometimes I didn't feel like putting my best foot forward in each one. The stress started to affect my grades and motivation, and I knew I had to change up my routine if I was going to be successful. My first strategy for getting over these hurdles was to better manage my time. I started to plan my time more efficiently and prioritize my tasks, and even made smaller steps from big tasks. This enabled me not to feel overwhelmed and to maintain regularity with my duties. I also learned to set goals for myself to do every day, instead of doing too much. Another key skill I learned was building up my support system. Talked more to family and sought their support when feeling frustrated or stressed. My church community also helped to keep me grounded. Participating in choir made me realize that it is important to work together as a team and to commit to doing something even if it is hard. With their assistance, I was able to find my self-worth and learn that I am not alone on my journey. In addition, I was required to build up mental strength and self-discipline. I didn't want to let the stress get to me, and I learned how to keep my focus on my goals and remind myself of why I started. I started to be patient with myself and realized that everything doesn't move quickly. I was consistent and not giving up, so little by little I began to notice a change in my attitude and performance. With hard work and determination, I managed to get through that tough time and work towards my goal of becoming a nurse. I mastered how to handle pressure, how to stay organized, and how to persevere through difficulties when things felt overwhelming. But, most important to me was proving I could overcome things when I'm focused and committed. It was an educational experience for me, as well as a personal one. It made me stronger and helped me to understand that I will face challenges in college and in my nursing career. I understand that hardship is not a hurdle; it is a part of what makes me who I am, and gives me the strength to reach heights higher than I could have dreamed.

I have always felt a desire to help others and want to have a career that is meaningful, stable, and makes a difference, so that's why I want to pursue a degree in nursing. I see nursing as more than a profession; it is a call from God to serve people in ways that help them through some of their most fragile times, a call that comes from compassion. I have always felt a compassion for others, a desire to listen, and a need to help and provide support to others, and nursing is a way to do just that. This degree course has captivated my interest from an early age because of my family and church. Kindness, respect, faith, and service to others were continually promoted in my upbringing. Success is not only about what you do for yourself but what you do for others and how you make an impact on your community, my family taught me. This experience helped me to build my character and appreciate the responsibility and empathy for others. My church is also a significant part of my vision for service, along with my family. Another element of my nursing passion is the respect I have for the healthcare providers and their effect on people and families. Nurses are the first to provide comfort to patients, and they are an important part of medical care and emotional support. I find it impressive how the nurse must be knowledgeable, fast-thinking, and compassionate all at once. They care for people in their most uncertain and stressful moments, and that's something that really inspires me. The science and the caring are what I enjoy most about nursing. I want to improve my skills with human anatomy, healthcare, and health sciences, but I also want to engage people on a personal level. I want to be able to see my patients not only as a medical problem, but as an individual with a story, needs, and emotions. I think that the healing can not only be physical, but emotional as well, and that nurses can have a significant role in that. This is the path that I chose in my life, and I have been made stronger along the way. Through school, church, and personal challenges, I have learned to persevere, be responsible, and adaptable. Nursing is a field where things can happen fast, and you need to have the ability to think on your feet, and these are all important attributes for the job. I want to be the kind of nurse who is remembered for being kind, patient, and understanding. So many people are scared and anxious about medical problems, and I want them to feel reassured and comforted by me. I think if I can give a little bit of kindness to people in a health care facility, it can really make a difference in the patient's stay and in their healing process. I would like to work in the future in hospitals, clinics, and community health in my nursing profession. I particularly want to support communities where access to quality health services is limited and where people are not being served. I want to champion patients, educate families on health and wellness, and fill gaps in health care access. I feel that everyone, regardless of circumstances or backgrounds, should receive high-quality, compassionate care. I am consistently passionate about pursuing a nursing degree because it is what I am and what I want to be. It allows me to use my passion for science, my heart for people, and my heart for my community in one job. Nursing isn't something I want to do, is something that I feel connected to. I chose to be a nurse due to my great love of helping people and making a difference in people's lives during some of their most vulnerable moments. Outside of patient care, there are many things I am constantly learning and growing in my life. One of the most important experiences of my life is playing softball. I learned more than just the basics of the game as a player who played in center field, LF, RF, and 1B. Softball has taught me what it takes to become a good person and helped me to be disciplined in my work. I will use the lessons in softball that I have learned with me for the rest of my life. Perseverance is one of the most important lessons I learned in softball. Games when things went wrong, whether it was through an error, striking out, or facing a difficult player. Those moments were when I learned to concentrate, learn from my failure, and strive to improve. I discovered that you can't be perfect to be successful, but you have to keep going against the obstacles in your path. Being able to play multiple positions also helped me to be flexible as well as a team player. Both when I was in the outfield and when I was at first base, I was aware that everyone had an important role in the team and that everyone had to do their job to make the team successful. Through softball, I learned how to communicate with others, how to trust others, and how to help others, both on and off the field. My coaches, teammates, and family have encouraged me throughout my softball career. Their support inspired me to grow in confidence and to know that with hard work and dedication, I can grow. They helped me to understand that it was my responsibility as a team member to be reliable, respectful to others, and always have a positive attitude. My future goals have been shaped by these experiences, as they have equipped me with the skills, determination, and resilience to lead and excel in my future endeavors. On the softball field, I learned some things that I will take into my higher education and my career as a nurse. I hope to tackle challenges with grit, play a team sport, be a team player, and be a good community member who will have the same drive and teamwork as in softball. Softball has been a great influence on me in becoming a stronger, more disciplined, and more confident individual. The principles I have learned in the sport will follow me and help me achieve my objectives and make an impact on the lives of others.

Helping people and the values my family passed on to me are intertwined with my interest in nursing. As a child, I was taught that it is important to be compassionate, hardworking, have a strong faith, and to serve others.
