Bio

I am a dedicated student pursuing a degree in Radiologic Technology with a strong background in healthcare and patient-centered service. Pursuing radiologic technology allows me to combine my prior medical experience with my commitment to serving others. I am especially drawn to diagnostic imaging because of its critical role in patient diagnosis, treatment, and overall care. I am committed to mastering imaging techniques, safety protocols, and patient communication to ensure high-quality care and accurate results. My journey has required perseverance, discipline, and resilience, and these qualities continue to shape my academic approach. I am highly motivated to complete my degree and build a stable, meaningful career in radiology, where I can contribute positively to patient outcomes and the healthcare community as a whole. Receiving this scholarship would support my academic goals and affirm the importance of representation in healthcare. I aspire to serve as a role model for other Hispanic students who may doubt their place in higher education or healthcare professions. My identity has shaped my path, strengthened my resolve, and continues to inspire my purpose, to serve others with compassion, advocate for equitable care, and create lasting impact through education.

As a Hispanic woman in the United States, my identity has significantly shaped my educational journey, professional goals, and personal resilience. Growing up within a Hispanic community instilled in me the values of hard work, faith, perseverance, and family. While these values provided a strong foundation, navigating educational and professional spaces where Hispanics are underrepresented required determination, discipline, and an unwavering belief in my purpose. I am a single mother of 3 amazing children that drive me to do the unexplainable each and every day. I want to make a difference for them and the next generation to come. In my program, as a Hispanic student, I am in the 7-8%percentile. Being a minority has exposed me to disparities in access, representation, and opportunity. These experiences motivated me to pursue higher education not only to improve my own circumstances, but to break generational barriers and create a better future for my family. My journey reflects a responsibility I carry—to succeed not just for myself, but for those who will look to my story as proof that perseverance can overcome limitations. I previously worked in the medical field, including in a fast-paced Emergency Room, where I witnessed firsthand how cultural differences and language barriers can affect patient care. As a bilingual Hispanic woman, I often helped bridge communication gaps, providing comfort and clarity to patients who felt overwhelmed or misunderstood. These experiences deepened my passion for healthcare and reinforced my desire to serve diverse populations with compassion and cultural awareness. Although I later transitioned into entrepreneurship and operated a title company, my commitment to service remained constant. This experience strengthened my leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills, but ultimately reaffirmed my calling to return to healthcare. Pursuing a degree in Radiologic Technology allows me to combine my clinical background, professional discipline, and cultural perspective in a role that directly impacts patient outcomes. Diagnostic imaging is critical to accurate diagnosis and treatment, and I am committed to performing my work with excellence, integrity, and empathy. As an underrepresented minority, pursuing higher education has required sacrifice and perseverance. Balancing academic demands with personal responsibilities strengthened my resilience and work ethic. These challenges did not deter me; instead, they fueled my determination to succeed. Education represents empowerment, stability, and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to my community.
