I've always wanted to make my mom proud. My mom has sacrificed everything for my family and for herself. She is a single mother, and we have lived off of one income since I can remember. I started devoting my life to school and my mom. Everything I do is for her! She is the one who encourages and motivates me to do my best. This year I am going to graduate from Shoshone High school as valedictorian. This is one step from reaching my goal. Being recognized proves that my hard work paid off in high school. I hope to inspire my younger brother, and show him that it all comes together if you work hard. I would also like to inspire the younger students in high school. College is so important to me because I want to become a radiology technician. This has always been my dream. I love seeing how the body works internally. It's my dream to help others. Many people know me as caring, and always willing to help. I want to be able to keep this characteristic and trait for my future dream job. This job requires working at a fast pace, but still providing the best care for patients, and I know I will be able to accomplish this work ethic. I have always seen and known that health care field was where I belonged. College is going to help me achieve my dream and push me to become who I want to be. My future will depend on what I achieve in college. If I become a recipient of this grant, I will use it to help me with schooling, specifically in areas such as purchasing books or paying fees required by the school. As I mentioned before, I come from a single income family, so finances have always been a tight. I don't have a college fund, and I am hoping with the help of scholarships I can lift the financial burden for myself and my mother. I started taking dual credit classes as a sophomore when I was told the school helps pay for some of my college courses. I took this deal and I have been working very hard at my goal. Every year I had at least three college courses. My senior year I took a class for every free hour I had because it meant being one step closer to my dream of being a radiology technician. With your support I am ready to make my determination into a career to help others. I hope I am considered a strong candidate for this scholarship. Coming from a small school, I have learned to take every opportunity there is and to stay determined in reaching my goal. This grant will allow me to register for classes and pay for my books easier, without worrying about whether I am able to afford them or not. The generosity of this scholarship will help on my college journey to become a radiology technician.
