Brown Skin Agenda Aesthetics & Cosmetology Scholarship
After completing aesthetician school, I was determined to elevate my expertise in aesthetics and secure a position at a Med Spa, despite the common advice that my first job would likely be at a chain location. I persevered and worked independently until I was offered a role at Bella Med Spa LLC, where I have been thriving for over two years. Currently, I serve as the Lead Aesthetic Assistant and am spearheading a major project to introduce new services to our spa.
My passion for aesthetics is fueled by my personal experience struggling with Acne. I spent most of aesthetician school learning how to heal my acne to improve my confidence. I was constantly hiding under pounds of makeup because I felt so insecure to leave the house without covering my blemishes. During school I was able to clear my acne and maintain the quality of my skin. As I saw changes my results sparked my desire to continue learning about aesthetics. I was determined to take further steps to be able to do more invasive services.
When I started working at Bella Med Spa I was introduced to VI Peels. These peels have significantly transformed my skin. I wholeheartedly encourage our clients to invest in these treatments for their remarkable results. Every time a patient asks me what I recommend I always. say VI Peel. I am constantly raving about this product because it truly works. Many of my acne scars have diminished in depth, my post inflammatory erythema and hyperpigmentation is gone, and I feel like my skin looks younger. Whenever patients ask about results I always show them what my skin used to look like before VI Peels and more often than not they are convinced to book one.
Furthermore, I am deeply inspired by my boss, Karla Cabrera, a nurse practitioner who has motivated me to pursue my RN degree. I had a misconception of what nursing was and she showed me how impactful this career can be. Her mentorship has broadened my understanding of the diverse fields within nursing. I decided to continue my education and I am now in my final semester at Arizona College of Nursing. However, the burden of student loans has been a main source of anxiety for me. Winning this scholarship would enable me to repay my father's "Student Plus" loan, which he generously took out to support my education, and would significantly ease my financial concerns.
