New Jersey New York First Generation Scholarship
Being a first-generation college graduate means that I would be the first person in my family to get a degree in the field that I would be studying, and that would be psychology. It would also mean that I would be able to help other people with my degree in psychology. I am in a low-income household, and I do not have enough money to pay for my college degree. With this scholarship, I be able to pay for my courses and my degree in psychology. I plan on using my degree to become an art therapist, and I want to incorporate frequency and tarot cards into my sessions with my patients. I want to expand their minds and look into the beauty of things and some of the ugly parts as well, because art is in everything and what shapes the mind to creativity. This scholarship will help me with my academic career and make me the first person in my family to receive a degree, and put me on a path to achieving my dreams of becoming an art therapist. I was in the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts, and it taught me how to survive in the woods and to enjoy camping. I also learned the beauty in nature and each living creature. It also showed me that contributing to my community helps other people in need. I also volunteered at a church doing the setup, and the sound and audio. It showed me my passion for music and how I can help out in the church. When I was in high school, I participated in the chorus, and it showed me that I love to sing. I also had many jobs, such as being a custodian at a school, a dishwasher, a program aid, a server, and a busser. When I was a program aid, the staff and I played Dungeons and Dragons, which I fell in love with, the game, not so much working there, but it had its moments where I enjoyed it. The jobs I had did not give me a lot of money and probably not something that everyone can handle, but they shaped me to become the person I am today. Some of the jobs I enjoyed, some of them I did not enjoy. I am currently unemployed, and I do not get any income because I do not qualify for unemployment, so things have been rough for me. I am trying to find a job, but no one is hiring me, so it has been tough.

When I was at Ocean County College, I ran into a few problems. One semester, I took up statistics, and the professor sent us home with the quiz, which was the only homework. The problem with this is that the local library does not help you if it's a quiz, and the tutoring center is terrible. So sometimes I had to go to a private tutor that I found and looked up on Facebook. I ran into a problem with that because they want money. Luckily, I found a way to get someone who I didn't have to pay them but then I had to go through one tutor to another tutor. I also had a relative help me with the work as well. Now that I look back at this, I think the one class was a pain in the ass to get through, and the college was less than helpful. Luckily, I am resourceful and try to find a way around things to get the work done. That was not the only time I had a problem with them. I also had a terrible professor who made the assignments timed, and you had to do the assignment on that day and time. I, because he was a cop, he was strict and did not know how to deal with college students, plus the fact that he was older. Not to mention his extra credit wasn't accessible because you had to donate blood during covid which not everyone can donate blood, and the fact that it was during COVID. I also had a problem with that professor because one of my classes clashed with his class, and I had to make a choice between which class I could get the work done in. Then I had another professor to whom I submitted the work, and got a zero for it because it wasn't up to their standards, like you could put a grade in it does not have to be a zero. Luckily, I got through that terrible experience at that college and got my degree from there. By dealing with these experiences, I learned to find a way to get the work done and when to push through even though things look tough, and sometimes it works out, and other times it does not work out. If I had to relive that terrible experience, I would want my memory erased since I do not know if I can go through that again.
Kyla Jo Burridge Memorial Scholarship for Brain Cancer Awareness and Support
My Grandmother had brain cancer, and she died in 1990 before I was born. Back then, there was no medical prevention as we have now, and if she had been able to get the treatment we have now, it might be possible that she would still be alive today. When she had brain cancer, the first sign she had it was that she wet herself. She got treatment for it and had the tumor removed, but then there was another tumor in her brain, and the doctors could not work on it for a second time. She had felt no pain when she was dying, which is probably the only good thing that came out of this. I wish that no one had to deal with the loss of a person to brain cancer or any type of cancer. I know there is a cure out there, but it has been shut down based on the greed and politics of the world we have today. I am hoping that in the future the cure for this illness be taken care of and that we do not have to worry about someone dying from it. I do not think I have been involved with any organization that helps people with brain cancer, but I have done a lot of volunteer work in my community before. Such as helping with the clean-up after Storm Sandy, helping deliver water to people who were in a race, clean-up in multiple areas, and volunteering with the Boy Scouts. I also volunteered at a church, and I did the setup with the audio and sound. This scholarship would help me with my degree in psychology and help pay for my classes since I live in a low in com household and I currently do not have a job. With this degree, I can promote education about brain cancer and help patients who might have brain cancer as well. My goal is to help people as much as I possibly can and have a big or even a small impact on their lives. My goal is to help people with their mental problems and sometimes even their physical problems as well. I plan on using my degree to promote mental health and, in some cases, even brain cancer. Hopefully, in the future, we won't have to worry about dying from the disease and have a cure that works.

I am pursuing a degree in the mental health field to make a difference in someone's life and help them with the struggles they are facing in everyday life. I have schizophrenia, and I want to help others who have a mental illness. I have been going through multiple therapists and doctors; some of them helped, and some of them did not work. I also have been prescribing many different medicine through my life, and I finally got the right medicine that works for me now, and it only took 27 years to do that, and yes, it took them almost my whole life to figure that out. I also been to the mental hospital a few times, and if I can help someone not go there and help them through their time of need, I am willing to do that. I also want to help people who need someone to talk to and need someone there to help them in their lives. I was recently diagnosed with schizophrenia; before that, I was diagnosed with a bunch of other things. My life has not been easy, but it is my life and mine alone. If I could help one or more people with their problems that are similar to mine or different, I would do it in a heartbeat. I want to become an art therapist and have people express themselves in their art and show their raw emotions and things that may be things that they don't want to talk about, but it shows what they been through in their art. I want people to learn from their mistakes and make a better future for themselves and for others. I want them to achieve their goals and make a positive difference in their lives and in the lives of other people as well. I want to help as many people as I can and have them help people as well, and start a chain to help everyone out. I know this sounds simple and sometimes unrealistic to help every person, but it does not hurt to try and start somewhere to make it happen. We all have our struggles in life, but if we have someone to help us through our struggles, it might make things a bit easier for us to deal with. When I earn my degree, I plan on helping people and helping them get through their lives.

I have had multiple jobs in the past, and currently, I am unemployed and have no way to pay for college. I have had legal problems, which have been a nightmare to deal with, and I have no way of paying for that and college. I am hoping to get a scholarship to help me pay for college and get a degree in the field that I am studying. When I was younger, I was in the Boy Scouts and became a life scout. I also worked at a summer camp that I used to go to when I was a Boy Scout. It was my first job, and I worked only one summer there in 2015. I plan on using my degree to get a good-paying job and to help people. I plan on either opening my own practice or finding a place where I can start my career. I also plan on paying for a car with my job since I don't have one yet, and hopefully, I get one before I finish my degree. I also need support paying for all the expenses that are building up. I really need this scholarship because I do not have a way to pay for college, let alone the other debt that is piling up as well. I am dealing with a lot and hoping for the best by getting my degree and paying for all these expenses. Then with my degree help others in their life. I have a lot on my plate, and hopefully everything will get settled out. I am hoping for a brighter future and a better tomorrow, and hopefully, everything gets better for me and everyone else out there. I want to make the world a better place for us to live in. With everything going on, it seems like we are going into cyberpunk and a dystopian society where it may seem we are living in a science fiction movie or book, or maybe an anime. I also been to the mental hospital a few times, and if I can help someone not go there and help them through their time of need, I am willing to do that. Fuerza de V.N.C.E. Scholarship
The reason that I decided to get my degree in psychology is that I plan on helping people who have mental health problems and people who need a therapist for what goes on in their lives. I plan to become an art therapist, and I would also like to include Tero tat cards and frequency in my studies. I want to create a space where people feel comfortable being and expressing what is going on in their lives. I plan to get my bachelor's degree, then get my master's degree and start working on my career. At first, when I was getting my associate's degree, I wanted to become a lawyer. Now, my plans have changed, and I want to get a degree in psychology. I was also interested in art and music, and I wanted to incorporate that into my line of work. When I was in college, I took an art class, and it made me think that anyone can do art and that everything is art. That is why I want to help people and have them express what they are feeling and the complexity in their life and want them to use their emotions and create art that captures what they want to tell in their lives. I want people to get out of their comfort zone as well and become vulnerable and express that. I want to make the world a better place for everyone to live in, and when I get my degree, I can make a difference in people's lives I plan to help as many people as I can with my line of work. I plan on helping the people who come to see me, and also want them to help people in their lives as well. I want to make an impact on people's lives and have them keep coming back and seeing me. One way I could give back to the community is to have groups where we give back to the community is to have my patients make murals for the community that needs them. I think this is a good way to have people express themselves and help the community with art, and it could clean up the graffiti and tag marks that people leave. I want to have a big impact on people's lives and have people work on themselves, help other people, and help their community out.

I am a fan of Wicked because I saw Wicked part 1 and can't wait to see what happens in part. The movie was good and I think they should have the part 2 with the part one. I enjoy musicals and I enjoyed this movie. I am looking forward for the 2nd movie. I liked the story line of the movie. I enjoy listening to music from Ariana Grande and also remember her in her role Victorious. I was moved by Elphaba role in Wicked. The way she wanted to save the animals and let them have a voice instead of locking them in cages. I found the movie was a little long, but that is fine. I found the movie was inspirational and was interesting to say the least. I honestly do not care for movies I enjoy tv shows, anime, and plays. I will say I really like this movie, but I wouldn't say it was my favorite because I do not have a favorite movie. I found this movie enjoyable a little sad at times, but also moving. I cannot wait to see the 2nd movie. I have not seen the play but would like to see it. If it's like the movie, I surely enjoy it.

Option 2: Technology today has taken over people's lives, which affects their health and mental well-being. Some ways to improve this are to go out in nature and explore the world that we live in. We can also not let children go on cell phones and tablets at a young age who will be exposed to a lot of unnecessary things that parents can't control. Technology also helps us in different ways, like AI, which helps with medical equipment and some other jobs as well. I think technology helps and also hurts us. We as humans need to connect with people in person, explore the world with other people, learn about different cultures, and try new things. I believe we need to become a society that needs solar punk more than cyber punk. What we see in the news and the media is toxic and causes people to do desperate things for the wrong reasons. I blame the way society is made today and how it causes pain for everyone, even when you don't realize it, causing you pain. The legal system is broken, and society is broken as well. We live in a world where everything is fake, and nothing is real. Where the world that you think you know is not exactly what you think it is. What corrupts us as people is greed and money; without it, the world would look different from what it is today. The very foundation of what we are built to grow is based on family values, which the media does not want us a part of, and letting us become wrapped into something we are not, and making our minds corrupted by the garbage that is coming out. We are fractured creatures who are divine but have fallen to the corruption that is emplace in this world. We are the makers and the destroyers of the world and all that is around us. Technology for me has been a blessing and a curse there are somethings that its good for and somethings it is not good for. Technology also wraps our minds making us consumed over likes and content. It causes us to neglect our priorities making us have miss opportunities and missing out on what matters in life. This is why we need to strengthen our communication with our family, loved ones, friends, and acquaintances. The world we know it is a scarry place, but it doesn't mean we cannot do something to make it better. Life is hard and it can put a strain on us, but it does not mean we cannot move forward and make things better than what they are right now. AI has flaws it as well might turn into a digital God that takes over and it be because of our own creation and our undoing. Hopefully this does not happen. Then the movies with robots taking over might become a reality that we do not want to live in. Which would be ironic and poetic.
Robert F. Lawson Fund for Careers that Care
Hi, my name is Mario Calabrese. I play piano, I used to volunteer at a church and help with the setup and soundboard, I currently work at a restaurant, but I am looking for other opportunities that will help me get a better-paying job, I was a Boy Scout and earned the position of life scout, and I play piano. I have a dog named Lili who is 14 years old and is getting up in age. I love swimming, which is too cold out to do in the winter, like it is now, unfortunately. I was in the chorus when I was in elementary school and high school. I had multiple jobs, including working at a Boy Scout camp, working in a school as a custodian, working as a dishwasher at a restaurant and at McDonald's, which is my longest job that I held for at least three years, and then working as a server at Yesterdays, and then there is my current job at Bella Cucina. I have read a few fantasy books and some books that have romance and fantasy. I plan on making a positive impact with my career as a psychologist by helping other people with their problems. I plan on doing this by finding the root of their problems and having them express it positively. I also plan on using tarot cards, art, and frequency in my work. I also plan on making a positive impact on people's lives. I want to bring people together and make them feel good about themselves, and possibly have them help other people with what I taught them. I want the world to be a better place and have a positive impact on the world. I want to improve people's lives and give them new ways to help with their problems. I have mental health problems myself, and I want to help other people with some of their own problems that could be relatable to my problems as well. Everyone has their own baggage that they deal with, and I want to have people express it and deal with their problems head-on and have a positive impact on themselves and on others. I plan on getting my batchlors then my master's, to help other people. I want to have people get their shit in order and work on themselves, so that when they are done with that, they can help others.

I am Gay and I disagree with gay culture and think that some of the views that are forced upon us are more liberal. When I was in elementary school, I was attracted to guys, but kinda new to it, and I didn't know, and I was denying who I was. When I went to high school, I was hiding it and still denying it as well. Then, when I went to college, I was way more open to who I was, but I don't say anything unless someone asks about it as well. I do have some liberal views, but I am not far left. I do agree with marriage between people of the same sex. I believe that love is love and that people can express the way they feel. I don't really go out of my way and say hi, I am gay, and I am proud. That isn't me. I am more like if you ask me, I tell you, or make you guess and play with your mind. I live with my family and don't get out much, and I wish there were more clubs and bars for the community around my area. I also think there is a correlation between mental illness and the community which would help me get more clients if I receive funding to pay for my education. By receiving this scholarship it would help me pursue my career and become a physiologist to help other people and maybe some people who are LGBTQ+. Right now, I work, but what I make is less than minimum wage, and I won't be able to cover the cost of my studies. That is why I am applying for this Scholarship to help me with my education. I don't think I could change everyone's bias about the community but I can help people who go through the shit life throws at them that come seeking my help. My financial burdens include but are not limited to having enough money to live in the home I am living in now, having my cousin living with me and my family which puts a strain on the bills, I have no dental insurance, I work one day a week and can't really afford anything, and I am struggling to pay for my college education. I want to better myself by getting an education to get a better job than the one I already have.

I want to be a Psychologist because I struggle with mental health and want to help other people who have similar problems as I do. I have Scitofenia and was recently diagnosed with it. I've been to a lot of doctors and they gave me different diagnoses like ADHD, NOS, Depression, anxiety, and a lot more. My life was mostly going to doctors and taking meds, and most of the meds I've been on didn't work for me. Right now, the meds I am on are working, and I don't have any problems with them. I believe my mental illness was affected genetically and the mental illness came from my dad's side of the family. My therapist also thinks this is the case. My mental illnesses impact my academic studies, and I need accommodations to help me with my studies. I also had to find help in my studies to find a tutor on Facebook and see if they could help me with my studies. Usually, the tutors want money for the help they are providing, which was difficult for me because I don't have much money and had to find someone to do it for free. When I went to Ocean County College, I had to hand a note to my professors, which was embarrassing, and I didn't want to do it. I honestly thought this was degrading, and thankfully, they got rid of sending the notes and just sent an email to the professor. When I went to Kean University it was easier for me because the work was so much easier and I had professors who were better than the ones from Ocean County College. I had to be hospitalized because of my mental illness as well. This could be because I was on the wrong medication that was prescribed but didn't help me. When I worked at a Boy Scout camp, I had a problem with my arm that kept moving up and down for over 30 minutes nonstop. This had me go to the medical office at the camp, and I couldn't perform my job because my arm was going up and down. Then I had to go to a doctor to hook up all these electrodes on my head to see what was going on. What they described was that I was doing it on purpose, but to find out later on, it was from my medication.

What really inspired me to get this degree was learning about DID which is fascinating to me and I know someone who has it. I was interested in each of there personalities and connected the personalities in a metaphysical way. I connected the personalities to one of my other friends past lives and some of my past lives as well with the personalities. I also found out more than one person can have the same personality. I also found out animals can have DID as well. With this disorder there isn't a lot people know about it and that makes me more curious about what else can be found out about this mental disorder. Going by the personalities they pick the person not the other way where the person picks the personalities. Each one is unique and has its own unique presence. Some of the personalities have there own bodies as well and some others do not. Which is quite interesting. What also inspired me to take this degree is that it has connections to the metaphysical and I was thinking using teriot cards in my type of work. I also want to incorporate art therapy as well because any one can make art and it describes what is in the persons soul. Art can be interpreted in many different ways depending on the art. I was also thinking incorporating music and meditation. I want to help other people with using all these methods and maybe some new methods as well. I want to get my degree and start helping people but I first need the funds to help people. Hopefully I get this scholarship to start my journey to help others who struggle in there life. I am hoping someone would help me on my journey and help me get my degree and hopefully that someone is you.

If I could change one thing about health care I would say have it free and anyone can see any doctor to there choosing and you can get in as soon as you can. That is what I would like to change. Teletherapy is convenient and you can do it from anywhere u want. The challenges are that you can't do anything hands on when you are doing teletherapy or have the same interactions as you do as in in person therapy.

Ethel Hayes Destigmatization of Mental Health Scholarship
My mental health has been a struggle. I have been hospitalized, been in group therapy, and went to many doctors in the course of my life. I recently got diagnosed with Schizophrenia. When I was in grade school through highschool I was diagnosed with ADHD, Autism, Depression, Anxiety, and some other diagnosis that I can't remember. My goals are to improve on myself. Which include going to therapy, taking care of myself, and doing preoccupying my time doing something productive. I graduated from Ocean County College with my Associates degree in Science. Right now in my life I am trying to go to University of Phoenix to get my Batchlors degree in Phycology. When I am done with my Batchlors degree I plan on getting my Master's in Physiology to help other people with similar problems as me. My understanding of the world is that life has its moments where things can be good at times and bad at other times. My life has been difficult because I can't get a job that easily and I apply for multiple jobs but no one hires me. I have no idea why that happens but it does. I also had multiple jobs and the longest job I had was 3 years. I have limited relationships with other people. Like I don't go out much and when I do it's mostly food shopping or going out with family. I rarely go out with friends and my life is pretty sad at times.
