Bio

I am a PhD student at UC Berkeley in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management where I study how wildland fires impact water supply. I use satellite and airborne remote sensing to track snow depth and density across post-fire mountain landscapes to better understand how the water supply in the American West responds to fires and climate change. Before starting at Berkeley, I completed BS and MS degrees at Stanford in environmental fluid mechanics. I'm big on environmental education and outreach and in addition to graduate school have worked for the Inian Islands Institute (Gustavus, Alaska), Outer Coast (Sitka, Alaska), the US Forest Service (Durango, Colorado), and the Stanford Outdoors Program (Stanford, California).
