From a young age I have been fascinated with how the human body works, a passion for helping others, and a strong interest in the sciences. The curiosity to learn more about the various aspects of biology and medicine has sparked a desire to learn more and find a way to help others by assisting them to get better working in healthcare as a nurse. It is my dream to graduate high school, attend college, and get my certification to be able to become a Registered Nurse one day. I decided to pursue this career in the healthcare field was witnessing the care and dedication of healthcare professionals when visiting the doctor or visiting ill family members. The compassion, dedication, and efforts displayed by both doctors and nurses during those visits left a deep impact on me. It was during times like that when I realized the significant role of healthcare workers play in our society, not only do they treat illness but provide emotional support to patients and their families. These experiences help me figure out what I want to do with my life with a future career to help make a difference in people's lives. Along with my personal experiences my academic interest has always aligned with the healthcare field. Subjects like biology, chemistry, and anatomy and physiology have always caught my attention. I find the human body and the continues advancements in medical science both challenging and exciting. The prospect of contributing to this ever-evolving field and being part of a community that strives to improve health outcomes is highly motivating. My future career goals are centered around becoming a healthcare professional who can provide high quality care and contribute to the advancements of medical knowledge. I am highly interested in specializing in a field that combines patient care both mentally and physically. As a medical professional it is very important to be there for others to assist them to get better and that is something I look forward to doing every day to make sure this field is always successful. I look forward to taking on leadership roles within the healthcare sector. I believe that effective leadership is important in driving positive changes. By gaining experience in my chosen field, I hope to advocate for improvement in patient care, accessibility and healthcare education. My decision to pursue an education in healthcare is driven by a combination of personal experiences, academic interest, and a desire to make a meaningful impact. My future career goals are focused on providing excellent patient care, contributing to medical research, and advocating for positive changes in the healthcare system. I am committed to continue learning and gain professional development and look forward to the challenges and opportunities that will be faced in this rewarding field.

I grew up in a big family with four brothers and two sisters, growing up my dad was the only one that worked. My dad he did not make that much money for our big family, we weren't necessarily poor but we definitely were in need of help from time to time. My parents have always told me to make sure I go to school so that I have a chance of a good future in this world, everytime I would hear that I would feel annoyed because who want to continue going to school I would just tell them that school is hard and its too much work but as I grew older going into college is my main goal to pursue a higher career, and one of my main goals is to make sure Im succesful in the future so that I can have my dad stop working and give my parents everything they have given me since the day I was born, because I never had to worry if there was going to be a meal in the table. Eventhough my parents wont be able to financially support me with college I know I have to work extra hard to get myself there, just making them proud is all that matters. I will find my way into college to make them proud.

When you lose a sibling is like you lose a long-life best friend but losing a sibling that you never got to really meet feels very weird it's like they never even existed, they were there for your life, but you can't remember any day being with them only the day they died. One of my older brothers Miguel died at age eight when I was three years old, I remember that day like a very cloudy foggy memory since I was very young the things I remember I'm not sure if they are correct since almost everyth8ing went away from that day but I could still remember details. That day started early in the morning on a school day , I remember that my other older brothers where getting ready to be on their way to school and my brother Miguel was in bed with a stomachache and my parents let him stay home from school. At home later that day it was just my younger brother, my mom, my brother Miguel, and me. Miguel started to feel sicker later and my mom gave him some more medicine, I saw him laying on both the bed and the sofa looking sick but no one really though it was something super serious that would kill him. When my mom saw that he really was not getting any better she decided to call her friend who lived close by so that she could take my brother to the doctor but before anyone could even leave the house a few minutes later my brother had passed away I remember the pain in my mother's eyes as she realized he was gone. Ambulances arrive to our home a few minutes later my siblings get home from school and my dad arrives from work, I had to stay outside with my brothers because when I tried to go to my dad when he was going to enter the house the paramedics said I could not go in. When the paramedics could not do anything else to bring my brother back to life, they took him out in the chair they use in the ambulance and that was the last time I saw my brother. My Uncle came home, and he was with my parents trying to be there with them when they were in pain, I was young and didn't really understand what was going on, so I take to my grandparents' house who were close by with my brother to just be away from everything. As I got older I realized that was the only day that I remember with my brother Miguel there was no other day in my life that I can picture him be there I see pictures where he is there with the family but I don't remember a single day of him and I know I was young so I really would not remember a day with him but that's the part that really sucks about having lost him. I lost someone that was my family, my friend, my brother but now he is a stranger that was just in my life one day.

I am a senior in high school looking forward to graduating this May. I was born in Mexico and have lived in Texas since I was one year old, I am a middle child I have four brothers and two sisters: four of my siblings are older and I have two younger siblings. I will be a first-generation student in my family going to college, and I plan to attend TCC to obtain my associates and transfer to UNT or some of my other college acceptance, also I will be the first girl in my family to graduate high school which I have been working really hard to accomplish. The career I want to pursue is ultrasound technician. I have always wanted to work in the healthcare field it has always caught my attention to be the one that gets to help someone when they are injured or ill, I think healthcare is a very important position that can be very stressful, but it would be worth it when seeing the people get better. My plan to make a positive impact in the world by becoming an ultrasound tech is to help out doctors to find any tumor growth, heart problems, or any other issue that can be spotted with the ultrasound technology to help detect anything that can risk a patient's life so that it can be treated as quickly as possible. Some challenge that I have faced this year is trying to keep myself motivated to get through the end of the school year with having varsity soccer season, fafsa to complete, college applications, scholarships, and working afterschool has really had me in a chokehold. Everything has felt so overwhelming my grades went down and when I try to get work done, I can't get myself to do anything or when I do, I barely get something done. It feels impossible to overcome procrastination everything feels like it can wait until it's all piled up and it makes me feel like I have triple of things to do than with what I started with, but to overcome this problem I did my best to manage my time at school any time I had free time I would work on something that was due that week because if I did not do my work during school hours it was never going to get done when I was at home. By managing my time and just doing my work I managed to get myself to stop procrastinating not as much as I used to. Being part of a low income family and a woman has always pushed me to work harder to accomplish my career goals to make sure I make myself and family proud of what I end up doing in my life. I want to make sure that I never have to worry about being in any debt or just have to many bills to pay with not enough money in hand it is very important to me to have a security in a career that I love that will bring me the security of a good life not a crazy life but just a necessity of things that will need to be bought. Being successful in life will be the biggest accomplishment in my life I can imagine myself feeling like I my hard work would finally be paid off after many years of trying my best to get to that point, but I know that I still have a very long way to go to accomplish this but I will make sure I get there by keeping myself in the right path, working hard, being involved in useful activities for my career.I am a senior in high school looking forward to graduating this May. Losing a family member is one of the most difficult things anyone can experience. The death of a loved one can have very deep changes in a person's life, by shaping their perspective, values, and future choices. Reflecting on death experiences from family members it allows you to see the depth of impact it has on someone. When my older brother passed away it all felt very confusing for me, at the age of tree I did not really understand what was going on. I remember that day like a blurry flashback something I'm not sure if they happened or not or what was the order of events, but I do remember it was my mom, little brother, and me at home with my sick eight-year-old brother who had a bad stomach pain. I remember it was a school day, and I woke up to my brother telling my parents he wasn't feeling good and my parents telling him he could stay home from school, my mom gave him medicine to hopefully calm his pain but later that day he was still in pain, and we were getting ready to go to the doctor. my mom called her friend so that she could drive us there bust just a little after that call my brother passed away. I can't recall many things from that day, but I do remember the pain my parents went through specially my mom. Since that day everything was different nothing was or ever be the same I have noticed that my mom is more sensitive about death since the passing of my brother, and in general she is more sensitive there's days I see her be very sad and on days of my brothers birthday or when we visit him where he was buried I always study her and all I can see is sadness in her face. I began to understand the importance of cherishing the people and good moments in life, because I know that people can be gone from our life's. This realization made me want to try and spend more time with my family specially with my siblings because I had already lost one of my brothers and I felt like i never really got to know him since I was very young I don't have memories with him and I want to have that with my siblings today because who knows when either of us could be gone one day. The death of my brother was a very sad and is till this day a painful moment in my life and in my family's life. But the death of ma loved one made me appreciate and prioritize my family over anything, it taught me that they could be gone any moment, and I would only have blurry memories left of them. While the pain of losing him will always be present the growth that I gained from this experience has influenced me as a person.
