"If knowledge is power, then curiosity is the muscle." - Danielle LaPorte
I am a returning college student, determined to complete my bachelor’s degree after a decade of believing I wasn’t suited for academia. Discovering a subject that sparked my curiosity and passion has positively shifted my narrative towards unconditional self-belief. My natural inclination to inquire, learn, and embrace growth at every opportunity pairs well with my restarted academic journey.

Cybersecurity for Your Community Scholarship
Basic cybersecurity awareness is essential in this digital age we live in. Technology and internet capabilities have boomed in the last decade and a half, and along with it, the prominence and savvy of bad actors. It is not only alarming how many bad actors pull the wool on ordinary citizens' eyes, but heartbreaking to hear of the devastating aftermath for the victims. We must have honest conversations and host laid-back, welcoming meetings (maybe in a coffee shop like this one) to address this issue in an approachable, communal manner that holds space for victims and those worried they'll be next. If we can create a communal space to help overcome their confusion and shame, we can dissipate the dark clouds by fostering cybersecurity awareness, such as clues to look for and actionable steps, to ensure a safer future.
