My name is Maria Jose and I am an alcoholic, my sobriety date is May 2nd of 2022. Recovery for me means everything without it I wouldn't have anything that I have right now. Recovery has not only given me a good life with an amazing job as a house manager at a sober living, the opportunity to go back to college and pass my classes with good grades and a good stable life in general filled with good healthy relationships with my friends and family but what I am most grateful for getting from recovery is that today I have serenity, hope and a life purpose. Alcoholics Anonymous and god saves my life every day and thanks to them I get to be the woman that I am today. They taught me how to be responsible, caring, at service, show up and more. I get to feel alive and free. All my life I felt hopeless and without a purpose till I came to Alcoholics Anonymous and got sober. It will always be the biggest blessing in my life.
