I am a LatinX student who wants to work toward my goal of becoming an art teacher and try to inspire future students that creativity and imagination is a great skill to learn! I believe that being creative can make someone bold, it is my passion to be creative and learn to advance my skills. I believe I am a great candidate because I am an achieving person, I enjoy learning, and I also feel determined to further my education as far as I can go.
I went to Eagle Pass High School from 2017-2020
I graduated as a Junior with Honors with a GPA of 4.0, and received a Presidential Award for Educational Excellence.

My name is Mariana Rodriguez. I am Hispanic and I want to further my education because my sisters and my mother didn't have that privilege nor did they get that option. Since I am in a position to further my education, my skills, and my experience, I want to continue. I left college in May of 2022 because I got sick with my ovaries, and ever since I have missed being in school. I have missed having things to do and having a purpose. Now that I feel so much better and I found my purpose once again, I want to further my education.
I still have dreams of getting my master's in education and another master's in psychology because I know that I can change the lives of so many children through my positive and fun attitude to the world. Children have too many worries on this earth and the only thing that I know that I can provide is the kindness and the caring they deserve. Knowing how much children hurt and how they need their own time and pace to understand, I know I can provide that. Because I used to be that kind of child who needed time to understand, that didn't have the help she didn't know she could get. I know my past self would be looking up to me and be proud for wanting to help children just like her who need time, patience and care.
There is still so much for me to learn, and there is so much room for growth. The few experiences I have had in working retail and working in a nursing home have shown me how much the world needs kindness and patience. It may look like an obvious thing from a third-person standpoint, but being in these fields has shown me that kindness, patience and care are the only ways that will help children prosper in this new world they are in. This doesn't even include how technology can affect them, which is a whole new category for me, but I know that now, since we adults are used to technology and things being fast-paced and so on, we forget how children aren't like technology and they aren't quick-witted or mentally there like weare or want out environment to be.
Patience, kindness, and caring are the ways I want to change the world through this new generation. Not only do they deserve it, but they need it to truly understand that we are all human and not like technology.
